Em’s music has aged HORRIBLY
youre only a musical legend if your art can stand the test of time.
I can still listen to tribe called quest in 2020 because its good music. I can still bump gangstarr in 2030 because its TIMELESS music.
ppl are calling em a legend while also saying they dont even listen to his music anymore.
HOW SWAY???
Opened doors for crackers?! Lol what

1000% on point.
I used to say Em is dope but his music just not for me. Then I went back and actually listened to his early shit and that shit aged horribly.
For the last 10 years he just rhyming words and shit sounds so forced. To me thats the worst type of rhyming. Listen to Black Thought rhyme every word in a sentence and it sounds like all the words belong there and flow seamlessly. Listen to any random Em track on his last 4 albums and it sounds like all the rhymes are out of place and forced.
I just dont get the Eminem hype.
Everyone can do this. Heres a random example
I think em is Redman light.
Red does everything em does better imo.
Only Redman wasn't as out there with the over the top silly shit. And the extra weirdo shit.
I mean Reggie definitely had his moments, but my point is I could never put em over red.
Red makes my top 10 depending on how I feel. I can see why niggaz rank em high... But he ain't better than red.
eh
watering Em down to 'lyrical miracle' rap is inaccurate af
but I will say his legendary status didn't come from any of his material from the last 10 yrs
take from that what u will

right that's why I said his supposed legendary status didn't come from his material from the last 10 yrsI said for the last 10 years. Em been nothing but a lyrical miracle rapper during the second half of his career.
His first albums he could really really rap. Not taking that away.

of all those dudes u listed post Malone is the only one that has real success and i'd consider him more pop than hip hopJust look at Post Malone, Riff Raff, Stitches, lil peep, Slim jesus from Chicago and all these other mfs who we don't listen to but somehow know about.
of all those dudes u listed post Malone is the only one that has real success and i'd consider him more pop than hip hop
if we hold a conversation in proportion there are practically infinitely more well known underground black rappers than white. I don't think u can name more than a handful more white rappers. and NO ONE considers these ass jobs as legendary or talented.Thats true, they aren't as successful but they're known. People outside of their cities know who they are so they in there. As far as Post Malone goes i only know like two of his songs, i just always thought he was considered a rapper.
truth be told.....niggas cant relate to A LOT of shit rap talks about...
but here we are.
people always use that "i cant relate" reasoning when they see fit. its funny actually
this can easily be refuted by the fact that there are people who have made an attempt at a rap career listing Em as an influence
I never heard anyone mention drumline as an inspiration.....like literally ever
