If his music doesn't reflect any actual growth again...it might actually be a wrap because it will at that point confirm what a huge part of Kendrick disses were about.
Future has 0 “growth” in his music and putting up 60 mullion monthly listeners just on Spotify. Breaking all type of records.

That growth take is weird every time it’s brought up

Bruh makes party type music but always drop multiple verses a year that’s fire.

Pusha T is damn near 50 still doing coke raps and folks call Daytona an elite album.

no growth by him.

Ehh. I see your point, but if he starts to change his music due to Kendrick, it will prove kedricks point even more. This is where Ja Rule went wrong w his 50 beef. He went away from what made him successful and fell into 50’s trap.
Drake is a pop artist, go make more smash hit records and distance yourself from this with your hits. Don’t try to become Kendrick and start making a bunch of conscious/grown up music RIGHT NOW.

I see that pov...but he can also address that in the music basically on some "this is what yall wanted so here" because that complaint has been around long before Kendrick ran him off the road this year. He don't even gotta make conscious music. Just stop the fake ass persona in his music and give people who he really is. It actually might endear people to him again

True. the growth argument made by budden i believe, was in the context of Drake being the number 1 artist in the world or whatever. That's the whole context

Yeah he'll be fine. His die hard stfans are gonna ride for him regardless. It's the fans outside of that Drake core group who will determine if they'll continue to rock wit him.

If he puts out good music...he's good. But like BlackRain stated, his music gotta reflect growth.

Whatever he drop next will do numbers cuz ppl will wana hear what he does directly following the beef. But he hit his ceiling 5 yrs ago. Especially if he can't get any notable stateside features or producers to send beats for a while after this.

That’s one route he can take. Could work. W the right GOOD music anything rebranding is possible really. Look at HOV. Dude went from “big pimpin” to 4:44 and even w Hov it took some figuring out far as sounds till he finally found the proper way to do grown folk rap.

Shit was goin cold for him anyway. Just look at how most ppl are talking about the last few products. Why you think he posted his peen? This beef shit makes it even easier for you to see that this is a 40 yr old Jewish Canadian still out here whining that 20 year old girls don't understand him. His momentum will keep him relevant for awhile & Lucien gone buy as many streams as necessary to recoup his 450..but it's never going back to how it was at the peak.

Given the type of rap Future makes it's not something that people would expect...but peopl3 still do clown him over it and every album he spends taking shots at Russell Wilson he does get called corny over it.

Same with Pusha. He's gotten flack for a long time now to the point it's an a consistent topic in his interviews to talk about people being tired of the coke raps and drug king pin shit. Especially with his lyrical ability. It also helps though that in his actual life he carries himself like an adult and not stuck in 2nd childhood like Drake does at times. So it does come up with other artists. Usually you hear it more with artist people have higher expectations for.

And that's it. Nobody wants Drake to go full 4:44 mode...but at the same time it's but so many more "Rich Baby Daddy" records Drake can make at this point. And that line was coming up before Kendrick pushed him closer to it

Ain’t Pusha out there in France with No Malice now, doing Clips shit on runways?
So. He has no “growth”

Which don’t matter anyways

Kendrick been rapping on the same topic his whole career. So did he have growth or is he the same dude from 10+ years ago

The whole conversation is dumb. I used to subscribe to it too
