OUT NOW Drake - ICEMAN

Added to Calendar: 05-15-26

Iceman has no skips. Wow

Bruh was really putting in work

Its not surprising people rushing to social media to be the first to not like it. Even when the album was literally hours old.

This has to be said,

There's a trend of people critiquing Drake's music, and I'm sorry, but this has to be the phoniest shit in music right now. It seems........weird that so many people have these expectations and desires and are phrasing them like demands for how Drake's music should be. It's a very weird energy.

I don't listen to NBA Youngboy. That's not my cup of tea, but whatever. What you won't see me do is discuss him in a way that makes it sound like he owes me something or that I am disappointed in him. I don't listen to that niggas music, and I am aware of how big his following is. Still, I don't fuck with him, so why would I get on my soapbox about how his music hasn't evolved? Speaking of that, I'm not sure people even understand what they're saying when they say that about Drake or any artist. What the fuck do you mean when you're talking about a rapper evolving in their music? These niggas are not where they were when they first started. What growth are you looking for? I feel like that's just a lazy trope being thrown out there just to take shots at Drake because as long as you have NBA Youngboys, Jack Harlows, and all of these untalented IMO artists making hip hop, it's really hard to try and talk down on a rapper who has definitely been on the top of the game.

If this is the critique that people have of Drake, how do they feel about other rappers?

These songs aren't even controversial. Some of it sounds like stuff that could be dropped into one of his old albums, and some of it has a new style to it. There's a mix of his classic production sound and some new stuff. Overall, this is not music that should garner this much fake disappointment and fake letdown. Like, what were these niggas doing in the first place? There's no way that these lame ass excuses are people's real feelings. This feels like a corny trend, and people are just going along with it. Kind of like how if Drake was all f these negative things that people are so comfortably saying, how does his niggas cement himself at the top of the game for over 15 years while so many people have this disdain for him?

I'm calling bullshit.

The music is great, btw.

I hate how this sounds like I'm in my feelings and defending Drake. That's not even what this is. I just think that music is in a bad spot, and there are way too many people speaking on things with no substance behind what they're saying.

It's corny. You really just have to listen to your shit and place no value in people's opinions on music now.

Got niggas trying to rewrite history. Somebody posted a clip of some people at what looked like a listening party for the album, and most of the reactions were people clowning and not understanding that.............listening parties are a thing for albums.

What are we doing, man?

This is crazy because there are more hate listeners than actual fans commenting, so there's no real way to even get a read on his music. That's why I said you just have to listen to your shit and trust your own ear.

Everything is a trend or a ploy to garner interest. Got muthafuckas who were still in school 10 years ago commenting on the impact of his music like everybody else was just born yesterday.

I agree people hate listening to Drake is stupid. But you contradicting yourself in this. If they're not where they were when they 1st started then it's natural to expect growth in the music. And that expectation is really only put on artists people have higher hopes for. It's a compliment really. Drake was in his mid 20s when he popped. He's pushing 40. And with his proven song writing ability it's natural for people to expect him to not still sound like he's 25 in his music

I don't think that Drake sounds 25 in his music. He's 39, and he sounds 39. I'm 37, and I feel like I know exactly what he's saying when he raps. I don't think he's pandering. I think people discuss Drake like he's a 60-year-old rock star who is still making rebellious grunge music.

Drake is 39. What exacty ware peole looking for in his music? Keep in mind that he's been on top for the better part of 15 years, and he's 39. What do they want to hear in his raps?

This is why Stan's in music arnt taken serious. If a noticeable number of people come with valid specific criticisms of their fav artist, its always met with replies like this.

I'm talking about when people arnt trolling and are being serious. Its never becomes an honest convo, just get called a hater ect. Its like not loving Trump to a MAGA person.
