They had been leaving bread crumbs leading up to episode 6 where hooded justice had his own episode.

Hooded Justice was Watchmen’s very first hero. The show just changed his legacy.

A massive reveal in "This Extraordinary Being" has pushed the entire Watchmen universe forward.

Tbh I didn't remember either until reading dilla's incorrect answer. It was such an irrelevant part of the story at the time.
