I THINK Superman ends up losing that fight because he's locked up at some point. Maybe Lex hits him with a krypto bullet on the way to escaping and lands outside the fortress? James Gunn said All Star Superman was a big influence on this film and in that story Superman develops a higher resistance to Kryptonite. The robot he's speaking too also is a part of All Star Superman comic
