And that's why you were still wrong.
In fact, what you're doing is worst, as you appear to be ignoring what evidence has been presented.
The evidence of police corruption within the DPD in the past, the racist text messages of a corrupt cop, the killers connections to another corrupt cop, the way they handled her arrest, the death threats the witnesses have gotten likely from white supremacist, the white supremacist influence in DPD, the racist "Us vs them" culture that's within law enforcement, the sudden death of a witness testifying in two trials against corrupt police, and possibly more.
Given all of that, suspecting the police involvement here is a reasonable conclusion even if wrong down the line.
To ignore all of that and say there is no reason to suspect the police is what's truly foolish.
