I get what you're saying, but the US doesn't really work like that. The country is basically designed so that a state like California could do something like that and no other state would feel the pressure to follow suit. Cali sending out reparations tomorrow doesn't mean that movement will automatically have traction in FL. Even if the Black Floridians are all on the same page, DeSantis could say "Fuck that," and there's not much black people could do about it because they can't get the consistent political power.

Therein lies the problem with your stance on a lot of this stuff. I completely agree with your desire to discourage black people from unconditionally supporting the Dems. The problem is that you shit on people for voting Dems while ignoring that the Cali reparations only have a shot at coming to fruition because the people that were voted into office are receptive. Credit where its due, the pro-black/afrocentric crowd is a big reason why reparations is even a topic of discussion.
