I just recently ordered Punisher: Welcome Back Frank (Marvel Premier Collection).

I might pick up Avengers: When Time Runs Out & Avengers: Secret Wars. I believe those books are what the new Avengers movies are going to be based on.

Ive been out of the comic reading game for a long time sadly. I do watch videos breaking down whats happening in the comics world though and the Absolute Universe sounds fucking epic. Love that DC did that. Hope it sticks around for awhile too, but knowing comics there will probably be some event where absolute batman ends up in the main DC universe and it all reboots into one singular universe lol.

If anyone has a website or something i can go to on my phone/laptop and read current comics, please message me. I used to have a website that uploaded new comics every wednesday but looks like its no longer active. Been wanting to get back into reading at least digitally until i can collect again.

Shits way better than the ultimate universe back then imo, but essentially, yeah thats what it is.

There's still the main DC continuity that progressed from the new 52 years back, but I think it was last year or the year prior, some event happened where darkseid managed to create his own universe in his image. I dont know if he was defeated and when he was reborn it was created or how he manages to do it, but it is called the absolute universe.

In his universe, all or most of the heroes exist, but they have completely different backstories. Scott Snyder, the writer who did new 52 batman in the beginning and gave us the court of the owls and the Death To the family story arc is writing for the absolute batman. This batman is born and raised in Gotham, but instead of both his parents being murdered, just his father died. Bruce grows up with his single mother and hes poor and has different motivations for becoming batman. A lot of his usual villains grew up with Bruce and went to school with him. The joker, instead of being a maniac clown, is a wealthy billionaire "humanitarian" and is nicknamed the joker because he is cold and blank and seems to lack a sense of humor. Being a billionaire humanitarian he is liked publicly, but in private he's a brutal killer and is the stereotypical billionaire into sick behaviors.

The batman in this universe is a bit more brutal to his enemies and a lot of other cool stuff happens. It's definitely worth diving into.

There's also absolute books for superman, green lantern, wonder woman, flash, and Martian manhunter and they all have reimagined backstories. Im not super familiar with them though.

I read Shazam was just revealed in the absolute superman book though and that page of panels looked really badass.

Shazam in the absolute universe is actually who we know as black Adam and not Billy batson but hes been imprisoned in a tomb for many years until superman freed him, then they ended up having a major fight.

The universe is still really young and has a lot to reveal but it sounds like its been pretty successful for DC and has the comic communities online buzzing every month.

This is actually real good description of Absolute Universe. I'm not a Batman fan but Absolute Batman I fuck with him. Buddy is brutal and don't give a shit.

They basically made him a mix Moonknight from Marvel and Bane with the zero fucks about killing bad guys.

Darkseid killed Kalibak as a sacrifice then he cuts off his arm spilling his own blood and sacrificing himself in the process where his DNA/genetics creates a whole new universe (Absolute Universe) in his own image.

In the Absolute Universe, DC does a reimagine of not only Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, etc., they also do the same with the villains. The Joker (patterned after Elon Musk) is like a demon from hell that's been around for centuries in Absolute Batman. Wonder Woman is from hell. Ras Al Guhl is a Superman villain in the Absolute Universe. The villains in the Absolute Universe are twisted af though.

Hit the nail on the head Absolute Batman series is my favorite Absolute Universe title to read right behind Absolute Superman.

Funny enough I can read Asian comics (manga/manhua) online all day but can't do it with American comics have to actually have it in my hands
 
Just ordered the first deluxe edition of an Image comic called Killadelphia. I haven't read any of it, but I checked out the synopsis of the book and it sounds interesting. It's Hardcover, so I'm not afraid it's gonna get damaged (I hope) too bad.

Also bought the rest of Kill or be Killed. The 1st book was great and I couldn't find it in any store in San Antonio. I'm going to Austin soon, but I want to read it now and can't wait. LMAO

Checkout Godhood Comics. They have a few titles but they have a comic about a Black husband and wife villain team who retired. The husband is like Jean Grey and the wife is like Superman and she's brutal.
