1) Beta and CTB being made mods. Let the chaos begin!
2022 saw a lot of familiar and active members bounce. Among them, mods and admin. A lot of time it was no warning. Just poof....gone. One day I looked at the Mod Squad and I'll be honest, I wasn't happy with what I saw. Not at all. We were letting 2022 and the lose of our heavy hitters affect us negatively. I knew I wanted to shake things up but before that I needed to put ppl in place that would help push us forward.
Enter Beta and Chi-Town B. Who more chaotic than the guy who visibly frustrated with the sites direction and public enemy number in every subforum? Both were known to butt heads with existing mods. I figured wouldn't be long before they ran off a few or at least each other. So quiet as a mouse, I gave them powers at the end of 2022 and because they both had experience modding it didn't take long for them to start moving things behind the scene.
CTB immediately started fucking up tho. Immediately. I'm sure Beta wanted to choke slam him a few times. #1 rule amongst the staff, dont step on each other toes. CTB showed up day one in steel toed uggs. Started toe crunching on the spot. As as I knew he would. He was everything I thought he was gonna be. A tyrant. A bully. Unfair. Biased. And wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. But he ain't burn us down so that's a plus
Beta becoming a company man was the greatest heel turn in ABW history. From fuck the Mods to Mod Squad being tatted on his titty. And then he started pulling niggas cards. He did it before the promotion but you could tell the promotion made him untouchable in his ruthlessness. Don't believe me? Check this out
@Big Lurko got bullied and belittled every other day because of Beta. The laughs we had behind the scenes over him tryna run Lurk off was one of the highlights of the year. Don't believe me? Check this thread out
Once I saw this after Beta was revealed
I knew I made the right choice. A year later and they still here. Site is moderately active. No one has been exposed. No one has been crying about mods. All in all, I'd say the chaos of them being called up led to, directly or indirectly, the other 9 moments of the year. In retrospect....me making them mods might be the greatest moment of 2023.
