This is fucking with me since I heard about it because on both my mom's side and dads side their are health issues.
On my mom's side there is too many to count but my dad's side my grandmother had 7 kids. 4 of them all passed away in their 50s my dad included. 3 of them were health related and my dad died from a single car accident he was drunk and wrapped his truck around a pole.
We were never close for how he treated my mama while growing up (drugs, alcohol, outside kids, beating on her, no lights, etc).
I strive everyday to be a father to my son that he wasn't to me.
It's an everyday battle within to be the opposite of him. My biggest thing is stress to live up to something greater.
I feel I'm doing a great job but I really need to start going to the doctor for checkups. I'm 38 and my son will be 4 in December. I want to see him graduate somewhere, get married and have grandkid(s).
Sorry for the long rant I had to get that out.
