Red half of it while at the bookstore.
I would say the book isn't a literary masterpiece nor was it designed to be. Simply put, it's just a woman's story about bad relationships and her learning how to love and create a meaningful relationship. She's not giving advice on how to do those things she's just sharing her story and pain which is admirable and makes you want to clutch her close and tell her it's gonna be ok. By no means is she perfect and she has shit to work on most definitely. I think her biggest problem is that she's never really seen "true love" or a strong relationship to emulate like so many in the black community and the biggest thing is type of men she was chasing - athletes, musicians, etc. Men who are so young, rich and enamored it is impossible to try and tell them to slow down at 22-23 (who would ?) She just didn't know better. Conversely, it was hard for her to date regular guys because of her IG page and most being insecure that rappers/athletes are in her DMs (which they were). The names of the men are all changed, likely to avoid lawsuits. Some of the stories are funny and take a lot of guts to admit catching an L and being disrespected like that.
Definitely a book written for women and gives them reassurance that there are other women in the world who are super beautiful and are dealing with getting cheated on and disrespected. Also might show to some that it's not entirely them some of it is just being young and dumb and making mistakes. But no one's perfect and everyone has shit they must work on to better themselves and be more appealing to the opposite (or same) sex.
I would say not to give up and sometimes it's about changing the way you think and approach things. I would also say not to be scared of love and understand too that shit might not work out and there's nothing wrong with that. Women like Brittany seemed so in denial about getting cheated, so terrified of being alone or making a mistake it only made things worse. These young girls need to stop living for other people and learn to live for and love themselves. They also have to stop looking for men to validate them (I know oxymoron given her profession). Her personality can be off-setting at times on IG but her book isn't garbage. This is the side of IG models you don't see or hear about.
