Bride faces backlash over ‘disrespectful’ dinner menu at wedding: ‘Extremely rude and tacky’

So petty.

If you know my mom specifically doesn't fuck with something why would you go out of your way to be petty on our wedding day and at least not try to accommodate her better.

I'd be pretty pissed I just got married to someone that decided the first thing she was gonna do is disrespect my mother on some petty shit off the rip.

That said I would have been more involved in the planning to make sure that type of shit isn't happening.

Like theres probably people that don't even eat chicken at the wedding much less lemon chicken. There should have been more options.

And they paid for the wedding on top? Yeah I can't imagine my brother or sister not trying to slap the shit out of my wife or me for the disrespect. That's crazy.

The only reason I see this as disrespectful is that her in-laws financed the wedding.

"Take my money and slap me in the face in front of everybody"

Imagine people at the wedding looking at the mother sideways because she's the only person eating a sub and candy?

Peoples significant others are going to have issues with each others parents at times. They aren't in a relationship with the parents so its understandable.

If she wanted to pull that kind of bs, she should have done it with her own money.

The bold is true, but if you're marrying into a family you should have some kind of functional relationship with the parents.

When it comes down to it, the degree of disrespect here depends somewhat on how close the parties are. If the wife and in-laws barely know each other and barely speak, I'd still call this foul, but I'd also say it's not that unexpected. I wouldn't be surprised that a woman didn't choose to prioritize her mother in-law's tastes over her own wishes. However, if they do know each other well and the in-laws have reached out and tried to embrace the wife, then this is really foul and I can definitely understand why the father in-law was so mad.

I have a feeling that this is a really nasty fued. So nasty that she really out her way just to single her own husband's mother out. I'm assuming the husband didn't care and accepted the divide. There's no way he didn't know what she was scheming.
