Probably because it came around the same time as whoever runs Cosby's twitter page thought it would be a good idea to have people come up with quotes on a Cosby meme and people kept making the quotes all about the rape allegations.

Comedians more popular and with more pull than Hannibal Burress had been talking about Cosby and what people said he was like off camera. A Hannibal Burress joke that somebody recorded on their phone and put out isn't nearly enough to have gotten someone like Bill Cosby in as much of the public's ire as he was. The feelings from many were already there, social media and the younger generation's lack of connection to his work did more to push things forward than one joke from a comedian that some people weren't even aware of

Sad part was that it really wasn't anything but a random joke at a show that somebody recorded and shared to the internet. It wasn't a calculated thing just internet outrage that escalated into an investigation

I think they proved a newspaper dude paid him to say the joke that was recorded and media helped push it.

the fact that it got the steam is apart of the problem I have with this.

just like in the other thread, if the police get your first, I have nothing to say. But if your painted a certain way that can cause the outrage, that’s not cool.

niggas seemed to forget how many black people are lynched off of rumors that gained steam and found to be untrue or misinterpreted but by then it’s too late.
