That's out of line. Some people like what they do. Not everyone wants to capture the sky. I don't think that makes him a dumbass or a slave. It is bad judgement though. He could have found another job like that where he would have been compensated better.

I read through the entire article. It was very interesting. Mr. Logan came to Chicago from Greenville Delta Mississippi by way of the Great Migration as a teen. His childhood was spent in poverty. Started working at the Pancake House in 1964 to this day. He got married, still married, bought a house, still lives there. Wife Claudia gets up everyday and works security (??) at a local school. His grandson describes them as financially stable. I was kinda impressed to he honest. It can't be easy to get up every morning and go to work in your 70's.

If his job didn't give him a raise after this became public knowledge they ain't shit. Actually they already ain't shit for not giving him a raise in 54 years. Eventhough he didn't ask, you saw this man day to day..week after week..for yearsss...and it never crossed your mind to up his pay?. This Is America, lol

I am curious as to how he managed to survive all this time though. He was in poverty. He had a job that didn't pay well. Cost of living has risen steadily over the years, but he hasn't gotten a single raise. I don't even see how it's possible for him to be making it. Even if he lives a humble lifestyle. That humble lifestyle cost more now than it did 30 years ago, so how can he maintain it if he's not making more money?
