I literally said the man never showed signs of hitting her or ever hit her. I also never said she would suspect he would hit her later.

My response to you is that people change! You never know how people will change or what will cause that change. Your “people” you know that made it from the dating to married stage May not have had any of these issues arise but if one day he decides he wanna smack her up, then what? It’s her fault for marrying him?
 
It's pretty easy to tell who is likely to beat the shit outta you when they get triggered. Just like it's pretty easy to tell who is gonna purposely make your life a living hell if you have a child with them and then things go south.

There are no sure things in life. But in the vast majority of cases, it's easy to tell.

I agree with this...people change. But rarely does the CORE of a person change. Very rarely does the things that make them 'THEM' change. Whether or not you will beat the shit out of a woman is a pretty closely-held, core value that MOST niggas don't vacillate from. From the time niggas are 15 until they die, they are USUALLY on team 'I'll smack the shit out of a woman' or team 'I'm not putting my hands on women'.

So while I agree that people change, USUALLY that is an aspect of your personality that doesn't change very much at all.

That's what I was trying to say.

If a muhfuck grew up thinking it was OK to strike women, then it would make perfect sense why he would have domestic issues.

However, if a guy grows up with a strong sense of responsibility and knowing why it's wrong/cowardly/borderline deadly to strike a woman and marries someone with that NEVER being an issue, it would take the absolute rarest and circumstances to just outwardly start lashing out.

My argument is people change… it don’t even have to be about them changing to becoming a woman beater. People change! You can’t sit here and say you know for a fact your wife or husband will act a certain way in a couple of years or if provoked unless you some sort of psychic.

i presented them the same courtesy

it may not work for everyone....it worked for us.

and it worked out well even with our elevated levels of hate for each other

im not saying i scared anyone......but more dudes than not respect a gentlemans agreement.
