Let me start off by saying... I dont hate the song. It's aite and I respect the artistry in putting all that shit together... but he aint really talkin bout shit!

Yall will explain it away by saying well he's just painting a mural with different images... yeah... tossing a buncha shit up on the canvas is more like it. Some people might appreciate that and call it a masterpiece or his greatest work.. I just happen to disagree.

I say this about Eminem as well.. while I can respect the technical part of putting the words together and flow etc.. all of that shit is meaningless if you aint really saying shit.

I've said it numerous times I don't like scavenger hunt ass music and this is the epitome of that shit. Conceptually and thematically this aint even top 5 Lupe songs in my humble opinion.

When homie said he didn’t see why people hype it up the 1st time he said this shit, I didn’t understand. There is a small population of people who even know the song exists. The ones that do? Yeah they talk about it because the imagery and bars are pretty intense. It’s a lot of effort…considering all the wordplay, references, metaphors and what not.

To say it’s “overrated” is weak. Just say you don’t like the song

But it's crazy cause the females that I know love Superstar but dont have the slightest clue of all the treasure hunting that's on that song.

His probably most straightforward song that I can think of off the top of my head is "next to it". It's got a catchy hook, dope beat, and there is nothing to decipher. It literally is "everything looks better with a bitch next to it"...

It’s really not a scavenger hunt. Dude incorporates references that aren’t even that deep; cartoons, video games, tv shows. It’s not some National Treasure/Da Vinci Code “what is the grand meaning of life” Illuminati shit. If things are going over your head or you don’t appreciate the bars because you don’t care to get the references, that’s on you.
