Some have said that parents should use other means of punishment. I give you Exhibit A...



What are y'all thoughts on this? Is this an acceptable form of punishment?

The father stated the "Pros" (son hasn't gotten in trouble, behavior improved, etc.), but what are the Cons?

What are the negative long term effects for the father punishing his child this way?

I agree with this. If it's something as serious as bullying, making the kid run to school is a great idea imo. Only objection I'd have is making him run in the rain for health reasons. I know I get sick easily when out in the rain so intentionally making a child sick aint cool. otherwise, ABSOLUTEEEEEEELY prefer this to whoppings.

the negative effects are potentials currently and wld depend on what the dad did after. mainly, if the kid pulled a muscle while running those 6 miles,, would he force him to keep going? if the kid got sick from it, would he still make him do it the next day?

What's his point? "I'll prove I'm a good parent by video taping it"? It makes him look weak. Good parenting bears fruit as children grow into adults and make decisions on their own using the guidance given to them.

My fam never tried to humiliate me. If I fucked up I got punished. The end.
