BUT, we need to do some serious housekeeping b/c niggas niggin is becoming an epidemic

In this thread, we will discuss the criteria for being a legend in hip hop.

We all know that for the most part who the certified legends are, so this is more of the maybe, second tier type of rappers i suppose

I'll use the OP to update the criteria

I'll begin with Impact and longevity. Now if you think someone on the list doesnt have lets say longevity, its up to you to provide context as to why you feel they should get a pass

-Genre defining albums
-Hit singles
-Cultural impact meaning if this person never existed their absence would change the course of history
-sales (some exceptions for 70’s/early 80’s artists)

Longevity - How many albums does it take to have that? If they had 2 hot albums and 8 duds, is that longevity?

Trying? The stats speak for themselves. 3-6 never hit the hot100 (urban) until sippin on sizzurp. No 3-6 act has ever cracked the billboard 100 until Project pat did it.
