Aaron Rodgers claims he’s a victim of “the woke mob” and “cancel culture” Update:Rodgers blames the hatred directed @ him on media driven “Fear Porn”.

The league is allowing him to play unvaxxed as long as he follows protocols which he claims he does and stated all the things he's not allowed to do that his vaxxed teammates are, where he can't go while his vaxxed teammates can.

Mind u he's tested first thing every single day but if his teammates are vaxxed how is he a threat to them?

We can talk personal anecdotes all day there are stories from both sides of it.
He did not have a mask on during interviews or while on the sideline

From the NFL memo it states they recommend face covering on sidelines but doesn't sound like they mandate it or penalize for not following that rule.

They also recommend teams don't interact with each other before or after games. But if they decide to partake they are mandated to mask up.

There is a distinction between what they recommend vs what they mandate and penalize.

Looks like u right about the post game interviews though

Lol yea..."I'm not answering" would've definitely stopped the convo. It probably would've had the exact effect he was trying to avoid. He wasn't worried about his playing status he was worried about the "witch hunt".....it's right there.....in the vid.

He also listed all the protocols he was adhering to and what the league and team was aware of. It's right there...in the vid.

And I'm saying that his worry about a witch hunt is some bullshit he made up in his own head because there isn't one. Again there's other high profile players who also aren't vaccinated or haven't revealed their status and nobody gives a fuck. So if that was his reasoning then it's stupid as fuck. On top of the other ridiculous bullshit he said in that interview he's manufactured the idea that people are against him when nobody actually was.

If one was being genuine, can they not draw parallels between this and the vaccinated vs unvaccinated tribalism occuring?

Especially considering unvaxxed are being segregated or losing their jobs?

No because someone choosing not to do something that will or won't allow them to work ain't the same as a law being created that literally will determine if I lived or died because I drank from the wrong water fountain in a certain town.

Back in August/September when they were pushing for players to get vaxxed there was much more talk about who is/isn't vaxxed. This article sums up what a lot of ppl were thinking about unvaxxed players

Aaron Rodgers also mentioned a lot of stuff that was happening around the league behind the scenes with unvaxxed players and how people were feeling forced to obliged. It's right there...in the vid.

U drawing up all this shit in your head bc u have your mind made up and didn't watch the vid (still).

You're getting too specific when the broad scope of the quote is about civil obedience/disobedience. Segregation was the example but:

U can see how this can create an environment of them vs us where the unvaxxed can be or feel shamed or blamed for everything.

But on this point I simply agree to disagree.

That article focuses on the fact that QBs being available matters more than anything. It's not a witch hunt or insulting to players who choose not to be vaccinated. I did watch the video which is why I keep saying what Roger's was worried about was some self created victim shit. Lamar Jackson caught covid twice...still unvaxxed and do you see anybody getting on him? No. And it can't be denied he's a face of a franchise high profile player in the league on a team expected to be a SB contender.

The only person who made up shit in their head is Aaron Rogers assuming that there'd be some massive public backlash against him when there most likely wouldn't have been because vaccinated or not he'd still be able to play. He just had to follow certain protocols which he did not. It's that simple.

The article is an example of the tone at the time. Radio shows were all on some if they're not vaxxed F them etc. Articles were coming out daily about which teams had what percentage of vaccination.

If u are an unvaxxed player (especially a QB) maybe u feel that pressure more than a guy on a forum typing stuff.

No matter how you try to spin it trying to compare something that you can willingly opt in or out of vs laws that were created where violating them would result in a life or death situation will never compare. That's some very peak white naivety shit to even think that's a good comparison to make. And it's insulting to people who literally lost their lives behind those laws. Aaron Rogers life ain't in danger because he has to wear a mask at his job.

I never said it's the same shit or same level. I said u can draw parallels. Both have some sort of segregation, both bring shame for not complying for things that are stupid laws to.begin with.

That's it, that's all. Agree to disagree.

That pressure was self imposed. It wasn't coming as hard as he believes it was. And the same guy who rails against "woke cancel culture" when he was actually being supported clearly has a grave misunderstanding of the actual current climate. He decided what peopels reactions were gonna be without actually seeing what the reactions were and he was flat out wrong. And he based his further actions on that wrong pov and now he's facing backlash for that.

Shame? No Black people not following those laws didn't bring shame. It brought violence, prison sentences and death. There is non parallel in this situation to that and the fact that you're tryingn to minimize what the actual consequences were for Black people violating those laws to just being shamed is pretty ridiculous.

The mandate itself, for those that don't wanna comply, is pressure enough. Especially if u strongly believe in bodily autonomy, as he claims he does.

U can't say what he is or isn't allowed to feel especially if u strongly disagree with his stance u can't possibly identify with it. Bron, who publicly stated he was vaxxed, got heat simply for not encouraging others to do so. U straight up downplaying it.

Lol I'm not tryna minimize anything. That's why I said I know it's not the same thing.

I'm not saying what he is or isn't allowed to feel. But just because he feels it doesn't mean he's right and he wasn't right. I don't disagree with his decision to not get vaccinated. I disagree with his decision to be misleading and to not follow the proper protocols to make sure he was able to stay available for his team. Which is what the majority of people focus on when they discuss thus. Not the actual vaccination status but whether or not players are doing what they need to to stay available. He didn't do that by not sticking to what he was supposed to do. No matter how you want to spin it that fact cannot be denied and now he's facing a possible suspension once he is eligible to play again. That's nobody's fault but his.
