People are always disingenuous when it comes to the discussion of non-whites owning slaves. Yes, it happened. Pretty much every culture on Earth had some form of slavery or forced work. However, very very few of those systems were anything like American style chattel slavery. Some tribes of Native Americans had slaves, but they didn't treat those people like pack animals. I'm not saying that's a good thing, but there is a big different between being treated as a second class citizen that has to work off a debt and being treated the same as ox or donkey.

Decided to run gargoyles back for a second time. The first time I ran it back was maybe 4 yrs ago. Man, this show was just excellent. The writing was dope. I liked the dark drawing style that was similar to batman. Just found out they have a ongoing comic book that started last year. It is the continuation of the show after the 3rd season. Just where the show was canceled. So the comic is season 4

I might try and run it back. I tried running back x-men with my nephew and he told me that it was trash and even tho I wanted to swing on him I can agree it didn't age well for me. Hopefully x-men 93 brings it back in a way that's palatable.

Xmen is on my watch list. Ill probably run back the spiderman show first though. Also gonna run Reboot back again. I know the cgi didnt age well but it was part of my childhood. The fact that im in IT now and I know what they are talking bout, hits differently

I don't know if I agree. I wouldn't say that only people from low income families have "the dog," but I think there is something to growing up immersed in adversity that does motivate people to success when it comes to sports. It's not a coincidence that most of the athletes in the NBA and NFL are black guys from lower middle to lower class households.

Keith David a legend. Me and my boy were just talking about him the other day and some of his voice work over the years.

I don't have numbers, but I'd suspect the percentage of black players in the NFL from the lower economic range range is even higher than the percentage of the general black population.

You don't have to take my word for it. Just go listen to most of the players speak and talk about what drove them to succeed. It's usually adversity.
