If he wasn’t going to be used then they already had an out.. so Cam will be an option and he’ll get his opportunities this year to maybe get a deal next year if he tempers his expectations and not insist on getting 30 million and it wasn’t like the Nets didn’t try to give him a multi year deal.

If Cam stays healthy and he plays well I think they’ll offer him a new deal that is fair for what he is. 19-21 million a year. If he’s still on his 30 million dollar a year salary demands then he can kick rocks.

Then he can bounce. And I’d wish him well. I’d keep him here because he’s home grown, and despite this being used against him as an indictment his scoring is elite and can be an asset for us especially as Demin and Traore develops; having that guy who can take pressure off of them to provide offense and is still within the same timeline is not a bad thing. But it’s up to Cam. I don’t think he’ll find a better offer next season either.

It depends on how the rookies look this season. If Demin and the others looks like they’re 2 years away from being 2 years away then no. But if the young guys establish themselves and look like potential future impact players then sure.
I don’t think Cam is gonna be back next year. Marks wants an international heavy, Nash-led suns adjacent team. Cam don’t fit in those plans
