who is it meaningful to?

I’m honestly not trying to be funny with that question. Folks who love basketball or the NBA is going to watch games regardless.

Do you honestly think the players or casual fan will get up for this? Of course we will not know until we are a few years from now though.

For players: Money, bragging rights, and it gives a reason for fans to watch

Grant Williams is a really good pick but seriously don't understand what else constitutes the Mavs having a good offseason.....Dante Exum really? Expecting 2 rookies to come in and contribute? Seth Curry who is always and injured and can't defend? Thybulle?
Luka still ain’t getting past the 2nd round so idc

Hatin don’t look good on y’all

Lmaooo

Mazzulla sabotaged his value
Nah Rob Williams played 29 games and Horford wasn’t playing back to backs and Grant averaged 8 and 4 rebounds. He only hits open threes on occasion struggles finishing at the basket, looks awful when he puts the ball on the floor and can’t rebound for shit for a power forward. He sabotaged himself with poor play throughout the season Grant is replaceable he fuckin stinks

Do you think this is a good idea? Do you think fans will gravitate towards or have more interest for this tournament? Do you think it will get the players hyped to play in it?
For me, I'm still in a holding pattern about what kinda "fan" I wanna be

I think this will be a good thing for people in similar situations where you get to see teams you normally wouldn't

My biggest talking point has always been "everyone needs a carrot". If this gets other people interested in the league as a whole, why is this a bad thing?

Don't worry brother, the game isn't played on paper

The NBA regular season is pretty inconsequential for casual fans so I understand the reasoning behind the tournament. However since it’s taking place in November/December it might not get a shit ton of eyes on it thanks to the NFL. Hope they don’t schedule any Sunday games.
