These kids not emotionally/mentally/socially equipped to jump from HS to being a pro in the league without a year of being an actual adult

One year outside of high school in college these kids are even more coddle.

it really makes no difference in majority of cases.

Itstarts early in high school with your parents on being able to adjust away from the nest and 1 year of college is just another year of high school

Some people will make it and some people wont.

That's all it is at the end of the day.

Going to college for 6 months isn't gonna prepare anybdoy for the NBA. What prepares people for life in the NBA....is being in the NBA.

Going to college so they can play against future accountants and be big man on campus and fuck college hoes all day and not do shit is fucking dumb.

The NBA and the NFL really need to dismantle the NCAA and the college athletics system and create their own developmental leagues starting at the age of 14 and letting these kids become pro and be around pros at an early age if they want an actual professional pipeline.

I don’t agree at all with that last paragraph.

At 14 these kids just starting high school, no way they're ready to be pro's especially in the NFL where their bodies haven't matured

It's the best way to do it.

It's what most of the world does.

They don't have an amateur system.

They identify talented kids and put them in pro academies and let them rise up the ranks and get professional coaching and professional guidance.

Letting colleges "develop" players is a terrible system. Only reason why America remains dominant at basketball is due to population size, interest in basketball and having a lot of Black people which allows the USA to have the kind of athleticism required for basketball dominance. Europe caught up already in terms of skill and coaching. They just don't have the right kind of athletes to dominate and their individual countries don't have a large population.

We already see how much we suck at soccer as a country because we got motherfuckers playing it in college. Everyone else kids been playing professionally since 12.

College athletics is a terrible way to develop a professional athlete. Only reason we do it is because it's a racket.

At 14, they'll play in an NFL league, with other high school aged players. They won't play against grown men.

Just like an soccer and basketball, in Europe, they got 14 year olds, playing against other players at their present skill level.
