It’s not that they overvalue him. It’s that the offers they’ve received so far isn’t worth it. Like Simons from the Blazers isn’t a deal I’d make.

I don’t see the downside

I trade a guy who’s not a #1 on a contender for a guy 3 years younger who’s not a #1 on a contender

The younger guy is historically a better shooter and I still have defensive wings on the team

Also Bridges for simons wouldn’t even be straight up so you’re getting additional assets

Now do I think the nets could get a better package? Probably but I’m not gonna act like simons is this inferior player to him

Bridges is somewhat more proven and they’re banking on him taking a bigger leap next year. Plus other all stars would be more sold on the idea of playing next to Bridges as opposed to Simons. Plus Bridges is a better defender. They’re hoping he can be their Kawhi.
