If the abortion is on the state level, could a democratic senate, house, governor of a state overturn an abortion ban?

On Tuesday night, several states ran with legalizing abortion on the ballot. It passed in every state where it was ran. New York Democrats also passed a statewide provision making access to an abortion legal in New York.

None of this will matter under Project 2025 though so.......................................

You just can’t “ban” abortions…it’s a medical issue that is thousands of years old

Due to moral beliefs many states rightfully are against abortion UNDER CERTAIN EXCEPTIONS

exceptions and restrictions are CRITICAL in understanding the process as to why and when it is taken place

This is why knowing state laws are just as important as anything else

You absolutely can just ban abortion and that's exactly what is going to happen under Project 2025.

You keep trying to fall back on states rights and buddy let me tell you....................................

That ain't gone mean shit here real soon regardless what state you live in.

Kamala was really running on restoring the rights that were granted under a Supreme Court decision. When the Supreme Court reversed that decision, after it being on the books for 50 years, the issue went back to the states and red states started banning abortions left and right.

If I’m not mistaken, Texas has a heartbeat law that says if there’s a heartbeat you can’t abort the baby under any circumstance. Lady was having complications, doctor couldn’t abort. She got an infection. She died.

If democrats had majority control of congress and presidency, they could write a law putting those protections back in place. That was Kamala’s angle.

So yes, it was Trump’s fault and Kamala was trying to fix it.

Don't forget the states that outlawed abortion before most women even know they're pregnant. And it's also not out the realm of possibility, as it's already happened, that women who have miscarriages will be assumed to have caused them intentionally and be treated as criminals instead of medical patients.

I don’t see what’s wrong with this

Under Biden my taxes were through the roof…because the corporations were being taxed higher as well

A lot of people agree that tax cuts on corporations benefit workers

When minimum wage went up…so did everything else.

The numbers changed but the cost worsened

Keep in mind I’m from NY

Tax cuts don't benefit workers. It benefits investors. And biggest investors in the US economy are foreign. The tax cuts don't even benefit American investors the most.

The high taxes on the wealthy and corporations is to prevent extreme income and wealth inequality. America has the worst wealth disparities in the world and it plays out in health and life outcomes. It plays out in the national politics and the beliefs about labor and capital.

People that believe tax cuts trickle down in benefits to labor or an extra hundred dollars in their pay check is worth Elon Musk having an extra 20 billion in networth missed the point.

The wealthiest people in the world invest in America and you wanna help them out on a tax bill is crazy.

Bruh I work in corporate finance. Your taxes have nothing to do with what corporations are taxed.

They may not give you a raise under some bullshit excuse like higher taxes, but your taxes do not change one bit if your income doesn’t.

And when corporations get lower taxes, they drop it straight to the bottom line. That is never a catalyst to raise wages. EVER.

Corporations only raise wages when the market for labor is tight and they have to fight each other for workers. That’s it.

That most likely wasn't because of Biden but because of Trump’s tax plan that went into effect.

My take is that the federal government shouldn’t be involved in people’s sex life, educational choices, healthcare, marital decisions or any ideologies that people believe others should follow

People have to take control over their own counties and states and establish their own laws…this is why we have different levels of government instead of one

Let the federal issues be held by the president and civilian issues be held by the people who govern that community

Anyone who looks towards a president to handle any and every civilian issue is setting themselves for disappointment and pandering

Increasing taxes on corporations don’t work

Inevitably someone has to end up paying more money than before

Ideally taxes should be cut for everyone

Holy crap...................

I don't know how much money you make but I do know this for a fact. In the last 2 years, that being 2023 and 2022, I can guarantee you that you personally paid more taxes as an individual than Amazon as a corporation.

I'm not making that up.

Serious question,

Do you even listen to what Republicans are saying?

I mean look at Florida. More than half the state thinks weed should be legalized and there should be abortion rights. Yet the amendments don't pass cause they don't meet a threshold. How is that democracy at work?
Lol the irony is the amendment to add the threshold received 58% and wouldn't have passed under its own rule

Bro…this is going to be an endless back and forth over who we think is lying

The question is…who ISNT lying?

All of us are literally taking these politicians at face value without any guarantee on how they are really going to do things.

That’s why I didn’t vote this year….but I knew Trump was going to win because Dems have a way of being sketchy and using sketchy tactics

I don’t see Project 2025 as EVER happening

Because not all republicans favor it and not all conservatives are the same.
Did you miss how many repubs ended up turning on the party to join maga and kiss the ring?

People were mad that Haley kissed the ring. There's very little repubs that haven't joined the cult
