Official Wrestling News Thread

One of the major discussions backstage at Raw this week circled around what will be closing the Bad Blood PPV. We are told that the initial plan as of months ago was to build the PPV around the idea of the anniversary of the first-ever WWE Hell In A Cell bout in 1997 since the event this year lands on the same date, 10/5, which we reported at the time at PWInsiderElite.com. That would have meant CM Punk vs. Drew McInyntre should have closed the show. There's been a push in certain circles of the company that Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns teaming for the first time ever and in a city that has signifigance to each, Atlanta, should headline the show against The Bloodline. We are told the final decision has not been made. I can't think of a PPV other than a Wrestlemania where a HIAC match didn't close the show built around HIAC and with Drew McIntyre pretty much promising a bloodbath against Punk, it would seem weird to go from that level of promised violence to anything else. So, stay tuned.

There was not a lot of talk about the Vince McMahon documentary last night among talents that we heard from.

There was, however, excitement about all the Hollywood types being at the show, especially since so many talents have signed with Paradigm in recent months. In the wake of the Endeavor purchase, there's been an uptick in interest between the entertainment world and WWE performers.

We are told the Dominik Mysterio hanging in the shark cage stipulation has been planned for Bad Blood for several months. It was not a late addition to plans for the Atlanta event.

Last night's Raw was completely sold out. We are told there were some ringside seats released late in the day yesterday in the $500 range and they were quickly snapped up.

No fuck all that Punk and Drew need to go last

But Roman/Cody vs Solo/Fatu is a slightly bigger story. I wouldn't be mad if Punk/Drew went last to commemorate the HITC anniversary. But they gotta end it wit a big pay off.

At least wit Roman/Cody you know you're gonna get more layers after that match. So I get why they could potentially main event.

Yeah but if we doing Badd Blood anniversary and a cell match...just have it go last, I'm sure there is layers to the Bloodline story but if it ain't Rock coming out then anything else will be fine going 2nd to last.

The momentum they had to push Danny was around them teasing him splitting from Jericho if I'm not mistaken.

He's had SOME opportunities...but AEW never fully have taken full advantage imo. I mean he's had decent feuds/matches. Plus him getting the ROH title was cool. But compared to Darby/Jack/MJK...he's at the bottom.

I'd like to see what a WWE run would look like.

Punk / Drew is arguably the biggest feud in all of wrestling and this match is the final in a trilogy and its in Hell in a Cell which we havent had since last year. Theres no justifiable reason it shouldnt be going last. Big Rome and Paul politicked the fuck outta these niggas to get that main event slot. Unless The Rock is coming back at the end they shouldnt be going on last. In fact they could benefit a whole lot more from opening or going on 2nd to last.

I mean he should of went over MJF at the last ppv since MJF was going on vacation
They didnt want to have him go over MJF cause they wasnt sure he'd resign even though they wasnt confident he'd resign when they brought him back at ALL IN. Pretty sure if they just pulled the trigger he'd be more inclined to wanna stay. Then again we dont know what these people are thinking and he may end up staying. But yeh if he does leave, taking an L to MJF was the nail in the coffin. They legit never booked him to win a big match. He could easily be slotted as part of their future especially when niggas like Sammy Guevera aint gettin over the way they thought.

Again...I would not be mad if Punk/Drew was the main event, due to the HITC anniversary. But I also would not be mad if Roman/Cody went last due to the continuing epicness wit their story. And Rock should not be a factor in anything until next year, when it's close to WM.
