HipHop Would Not Exist Without Jamaicans & Puerto Ricans - KRS One

Yea notice which side is making the challenges to show proof

Notice which side just makes claims with no proof then runs out of the room

I challenged that cowardly trolling bitch @Blue_London the same way. He ducked it as expected

Fat Joe Busta Rhymes and the rest will duck Lord jamar's challenge

Down south niggas dont really like Up North niggas yo. The military will show you that.
I always emphasize to watch them niggas and don't talk shit. Past recent years they been saying HipHop started in the south because of James Brown and jazz music. Ok, cool. Brooklyn's Grand Master Flowers DJ for James Brown. Joseph Savary and at least 3 battalion of free Haitian men fought for the Battle of New Orleans.
Guess what culture they brought with them?

Agallah is my guy. I did have problems with him when he disrespected Sean Price who was his best friend. It was over Sean Price working with Griselda. He apologized to Bernadette and others.

1st time I met 8off Agallah was at Club Santos on Lafayette and Canal st near the diamond district.

This song right here was my anthem that I uploaded on YouTube.

It’s not that southern people don’t like y’all. Y’all just got a certain way about you. It’s mainly the NYC types.

And somebody may say James Brown influences some hip hop artists but I don’t think anybody saying it started in the south

You can’t be pro black and think this? You a full sellout ass hi if you believe any of that. Defend rap all you want but this some bullshit
Playing stupid is all you can do I get it, but got to learn to stop reacting emotionally and think logically. I know that's hard for you

She said our food music speech and especially our FIGHT is different. That's either true or it's not true, Hellczar

We are different.

And we're not going to waste any more time playing Kumbaya with people who don't like us and who have never embraced us back. The African individual brothers and sisters who are down know what the deal is but we're not pretending there's unity when they don't want that.

but im the one playing dumb right? Im not doin this with you bruh.

Its a fuckin global struggle whether you want to admit it or not. You cant truly think African Americans are the only ones in the world fighting white supremacy.. at least I really hope you dont

This is Europe Bambatta. He is universally understood to be the foremost Hip-Hop organizer and pioneer during the 1970’s. He is from Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

During the formative years of hip hop, he created a behemoth of a hip hop organization called the Universal Viking Nation, which sported European decals, names and incorporated European words and political chants directly from the continent into their parties, which were the only ones that did not have violence because the Vikings were comprised of all the major youth groups in Tuscaloosa. One of the most popular chants was weird, they would all shout “ZULU!” And “UHURU” in a call-and-response style, idk why they use those words instead of Tuscaloosa.

This allowed the Vikings to monopolize Hip-Hop and spread it globally, starting in Brazil which spawned ‘Da fonk’, Brazil’s most popular art form and ESSENTIALLY European along with the French Hip Hop movement after incorporating the Viking Nation in Paris 1985.

it’s very important we understand that the Tuscaloosa native did these things 5-10 years before Hip Hop was even on the radio.

this a goofy ass convo imo. How bout we wrestle back control of distribution and ownership from those OTHERS that control it right now instead of crying about who was the first muhfucka to pop lock
We can do that too. But damn all that. We need to lay claim to what we created cause that's what everyone else does. They lay claim and gate keep it. White folks gate keep rock n roll and didn't create a lick of it. It was a time they called rock n roll "nigga music" now they look at a black man funny if he pick up a guitar.

The Banjo is a seminal apparatus in the continued development of the European musical tradition that comes from the continent. During slavery, recently kidnapped African people began playing the banjo, some suspect it is the expression for African string instruments, namely the akonting
1720562950795.jpeg

it’s so strange because this instrument only appears in places with large enslaved African populations with the oldest extant Banjo being from Suriname.

it’s strange to think that musical innovations made possible by the banjo like Ragtime. Jazz and Mississippi Delta Blues could have been mistakenly attributed to the extension/holdover of African percussion(Tribal drum kits that the beat machines of the 70s emulates) string (Banjo) nd vocal (Griot/Chantwell) traditions.

But then that would mean Hip Hop is African and is the latest in a line of African musical expression.

And we iz not African

No shit Sherlock we have differences but you trying to run with this superiority complex and it’s crazy. Everybody but them few old rappers knows who started hip hop. Also don’t act like early rappers wernt wearing African chains and using 5% lingo. Zulu nation and etc. like what we doing bro
