Because in reality, there is no unified political structure or vision for Black Americans for me to be loyal to.

There are no national causes for me to be loyal to.

Is that really a thing in football? I know basketball players get shipped around like that, but from what I've seen football players are more homegrown. The ones I knew didn't go to school with a bunch of white people til they got to college.

I think y'all are trying too hard to give these dudes a pass. Some of them might be awkward and not the best when it comes to socialization, but that doesn't matter because their statuses make up for it. Every dude at that draft with a white chick could have had a black chick instead of that's what they wanted.

Since it was out here in Tha D, one of my homegirls posted up from down there talmbout how deep the white girlfriend brigade was. A group of our old classmates posted something to the same effect and that was the talk for a day: How there were all these white broads on the arms of so many these Black prospects.

Before I committed myself to eternal bachelorhood, I wanted to get married.

Found out the hard way, that by the 90s, marriage was just a utility women used for financial security.

Didn't mind that part. What I did mind was how fucking lazy my fiance was.

Nah, she was college educated, worked on Capitol Hill, etc, etc...

But relationship wise, lazy as fuck. Couldn't plan any dates, vacations, nothing.

She didn't understand, that I as a man, with a financially rewarding job, didn't necessarily need her to be as well off as me.

Like you know how Kobe's wife didn't do shit besides have his kids and tell him have a good game?

That's what I wanted. Nope, she has to go run around DC and make deals and shit.
