Yes, I wish it died out in 1865 or before.

But here is the real thing My cousins and I talk about a lot

1. Do you hear Africans say nigga?

2. Do you hear black Europeans, Caribbeans, non American black people use nigga?

At least before they become Americanized
 
I've always found it interesting it being branded a thing associated with hip hop when Black people used it casually among themselves for decades prior. Whether or not a Black person uses it doesn't really matter to me. But the reasons for why not do intrigue me when they're not on some respectibility worrying about what white folks think shit.
 
It's too late now for all that. The word has gone mainstream and it's been highly commercialized by them folks..

Nope.

Its a part of AAVE slang. Its roots may have been ugly but a LOT of words in standard Anglo English started out as something “bad” or derogatory

There is a declarative and clearly defined difference between

Nigga and Nigger.

Choosing not to use the word is a matter of preference akin to someone not using profanity.
 
Like dave said..."take it from a nigga who says nigga alot, that nigga says nigga alot."
