For all its rich history of dope women characters niggas sure was mad when Shuri was Black Panther
Now that I think about it, nearly every female superhero show and movie in this subforum has been trashed by the usual suspects
But Shuri WAS the Black Panther

Shuri becomes the Black Panther in the comics so to me having that translate on screen wasnt an issue
BUT I understood why people were mad they didnt recast T'Challa because at the time Feige was saying T'Challa as a character was done for good and they'd never recast. You was essentially robbing the fans of more T'Challa stories.
So its not the same thing.

The little mermaid was already established as a redheaded white girl, no need to changed her.
They could had created a whole new original character and have her be black.
