I don’t like the way people turned the word coon into a synonym for Uncle Tom….

That was never what it meant but the internet changed the definition within the past decade

I kinda thought they were like the same thing. Sucking up the white folks against their own race. Sambo, Uncle Tom, Coon, shucking an jivin. Eventually people did learn Uncle Tom was not as bad as we thought.

Nah coon was always a term white people used for basically all black people but especially those who they saw as acting stereotypically black. It was basically “nigger” lite. Black people only started using it against other blacks extremely recently.

Yeah let me know if y’all can find a pre-2010 example of somebody using “coon” to mean a pro-white black person

When Katt Williams called Flavor Flav a coon in Pimp Chronicles the word had a completely different meaning
