Monica Rambeau was the 2nd Capt Marvel. Carol Danvers was a punching bag for the comics for years then they decided to make her the 6th CM. Befroe she became CM she was Ms Marvel, Binary and Warbird.

Why would anyone have a problem with how Monica was portrayed. She was a kid in the movie, and they did a good job of building her up as a potential hero when she grows up. And Carol started getting a push in the comics before the MCU, so you can't really say she just came out of nowhere. I think part of the reason she is given this prominence in the MCU is because of the push she's been given in the comics. Funny enough, she's disliked just as much in the comics as she is in the movies.
Also they gave her the name captain marvel and they keep makes series about her b3cause marvel won the rights to use the name from dc comics who was using it for shazam
In get that but what they are saying is Monica's portrayal in the mcu is a huge stepdown from her comics version. For starters Monica was a heroic coastguardsman who came from a two parent house hold and she idolized her father a retired fireman . She had no connection to carol danvers or the kree and so she had the name captain marvel before carol did who was known as me marvel. Monica rambeu had her own power set while ms marvel was just a female version of the original captain marvel . One video says she sucks and her books don't sell but the mcu built her up to be this great blond haired blue eyed hope etc.
Do you realize how many backstories have been changed for the MCU? Newsflash: That's not Carol Danvers origin story either. Scarlett Witch is one of the most powerful mutants and didn't receive her powers from an infinity stone. Vision shouldn't have had an infinity stone in his head either... And on and on.
The point is that the MCU has made its own backstories for these characters. If you're stuck on having the stories from the comics translated directly to film, the MCU isn't for you.
Why does it matter how Monica was introduced(I like it), if we get to see her as a hero in the MCU's current timeline?

You're missing my point its not so much them changing the lore of the comics (duh) it's that they took a strong black character and robbed her of her individuality. Thie great white blond haired blue eyed lady whos so bold is the reason monica became a super hero. They could've just brought Monica in later in her adult years as photon and it would've workd fine . I actually liked the movie but after watching that youtube video I had to agree.

The character will be her own character who happens to have Captain Marvel as an "aunt". Made introducing her as an adult hero that much easier.
