The women in my family have always fixed their s/o's plate at get togethers and other small, but intimate events (excluding a buffet/restaurant) . It's just customary and how I was raised. Even when you invite one or two guests, we would usually offer to fix their plates. Sometimes they'd do it themselves, but it was always good manners to offer. Even my uncles will ask one of my female cousins or me to fix them a plate.

This is the first thing in a LONG time that I agree with @Cain on.

And the 50th time I have been asked if Ive seen "A Bronx Tale", which I have no idea what the heck that is.

However, I do open the door for my man when he lets me in the car and you dang straight I make his plate.

When it comes to whom I fix plates for first, I will use my house for example because I take care of my mother now as well.

1.) Mom - she is old, elders get waited on first and foremost
2.) Husband - head of the house
3.) Children - Royalty
4.) Younger guests and family members - everyone else
5.) Myself.

ya'll are too much in this thread.. I need to speak to ya'lls grandparents.
 
My ex used to do this when I'd go with her to her church and for first time that happened I was like:bruh1::df:Yo you good I was getting up but she's like nah it's cool. If she was busy I'd get us both one or her mom would sometimes but we never argued about it though lol. I definitely appreciated it and have no problem picking up food myself. @Reesey :disnig:

You Sir, are a lost cause and don't read very well.

I yell Troll, because there has been PLENTY of times your wife has made plates for others and other women have made plates for you, "ESPECIALLY" if you guys ever host Thanksgiving or Christmas meals or attend the like elsewhere.

Your hierarchy is off and that's all good as well.

at the end of the day, if what others do makes them happy and works for them then more power to you. ;-)

Don't bring your kids to my house. ever.. cause they bad @$$es gone wait.

Kids are outdoors running a muck, while elders get served - if any are present.
Then King, Then the kids are called in and after everyone else is served 'after' the kids I make my plate last and then sit my @$$ down to eat.

Kids come before the rest of the adults but not before the super old and not before the man of the house.

However, let @DS_ confirm that there are plenty of times where he eats when I do because he is helping me get everyone situated and vice versa.
