Counting the group albums only, is WuTang discography top five for duo/group hip-hop albums?

36 Chambers
WuTang Forever
The W
Iron Flag
8 Diagrams
A Better Tomorrow
Once Upon a Time in Shaolin

Only one hot Album every 25 year average, that's so LAAAAMMMMEEEEE

Nah, there's a reason why they #1 on the majority of people's list. You ask someone about top hip hop groups Wu Tang will come up first

But why? I hate cliche hip-hop opinions. I bet most niggas couldn't name one WuTang group song post "Triumph"
Why are we only counting group albums?

Their solo albums are like group albums. They always have features from other clan members.

Edit. And why are you counting Once Upon A Time In Shaolin? Have you heard it?

We're not grading on a curve. Group albums only, no way they're top 5.

They’re not overrated but as far as group albums go. They have 2 classics 36 Chambers and Forever. One solid album The W, 3 duds Iron Flag, 8 Diagrams, and A Better Tomorrow. Their group discography overall isn’t that good. They haven’t dropped a good group album since the 90’s. I think their internal issues played a big role. Because in that time frame they’ve dropped dope solo/side projects.

If you count;

1. 36 Chambers (1993)
2. Tical (1994)
3. Return of the 36 Chambers (1995)
4. Only Built For Cuban Linx (1995)
5. Liquid Swords (1995)
6. Ironman (1996)
7. Wu Tang Forever (1997)
8. Supreme Clientele (2000)

^^^ Those albums sh!t on any other group/label you can name.

They have an unorthodox style of production, but that's why people like them.

Read the rules. Group albums only. Ghost and Rae can't keep carrying these niggas.

If we count EVERYTHING then yes their catalogue is the best ever. But we can’t count a Ghostface solo album as a Wu group album. 36 Chambers and Forever are classics, it’s been hit or miss since then.

Yeah but you're rules are stupid. The solo albums have features from other clan members. I could make a 80 minute playlist of posse jams from the albums I listed and it would play like a Wu Tang album.

Again, why are we excluding solo albums?

The only reason I can think of to exclude solo albums is to prove the point you're trying to make, which you wouldn't be able to prove if we count solo albums.

Wutang has 2 classics.

If Wutang as a "group" isn't top 5, then what groups have done better? Who has 3 classics not named Outkast?

I can't think of no groups with 3 certified classics. (Not even Outkast, another group that's super duper overrated, but thats another thread) But one classic and one great album with four subpar albums doesn't vault you into the top five.

Mobb Deep, Tribe, NWA, The Clipse, De La Soul, etc have better and more consistent albums.

NWA has 2 albums total... by your logic they're over-rated

De La Soul is fuck nigga music

The Clipse shouldn't even be in this discussion

Tribe is overrated af, but I'll save that debate for another day

Mobb Deep has 2 classics and a handful of good-decent albums, just like Wu

Go back to drawing board fam

Like I said take away ghost and Rae and GZA albums you can't make that 80 minute playlist. The rest of the niggas is trash, rza, odb, deck (3 memorable verses), ugod, masta Killa, and meth(1 memorable verse are mediocre emcess and lackluster solo albums.

Actually, NWA has three albums.

Eazy's first album was written by Ren and Cube and produced by Dre.

Then they had the 100 Miles and Runnin EP.

Between Eazy's first album and the EP, I'd say NWA has 3 albums.

Tribe has three 5 mic classics; Low End Theory, Midnight Marauders and We Got It From Here.
