Surprised Stringer ain't drop the news of Spence vs Garcia PPV.

Potentially Jan or Feb.

Let's get it on!!

Danny made this fight look a lot tougher and closer than it needed to be IMO. Danny has a lot skills and ability but he takes too much time off during rounds and wastes a lot of movement.

Danny needs to learn focus and be just as sharp as he was for the GGG fight no matter who he is fighting. I don't think Danny has ever been as hyped and focus for a fight like he was with GGG and his performances after that fight have shown that.

he got the handspeed and the footwork,

it's just like he forgets when he gets hit

Charlo's Trainer: Golovkin, Canelo, Jacobs Are Afraid To Fight!
By Lem Satterfield

WBC interim middleweight champion Jermall Charlo is the boogeyman of his division to hear it from his trainer, Ronnie Shields.

“Canelo Alvarez is afraid of Jermall, Triple-G [Gennady Golovkin] is afraid of Jermall, and Danny Jacobs is doing all of this talking, but Danny Jacobs is afraid of him, too,” said Shields, who trains the 28-year-old “Hit Man” out of the Houston-based Plex Gym along with left-handed former champion Erislandy Lara.

“They see that Jermall is a big, strong, skilled fighter who takes a good shot, and that he’s always in condition and ready to fight. That’s something they’re afraid of. Jermall is one helluva fighter and one tough fight for anybody that’s walking around on this planet right now, and it’s a simple as that.”

Charlo (27-0, 21 KOs) will pursue his initial defense and his fourth straight stoppage victory against southpaw two-time title challenger Willie Monroe (23-3, 6 KOs) at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on December 22. Also on the card, Charlo’s twin sibling, Jermell (31-0, 15 KOs) defends his WBC junior middleweight crown against repeat title challenger Tony Harrison (27-2, 21 KOs).

In victory over Monroe, Charlo has been mandated by the WBC to face the 36-year-old Golovkin (38-1-1, 34 KOs), who lost his IBO, WBC and “super” WBA 160-pound titles by split-decision last month to Alvarez (50-1-1, 34 KOs) in a rematch of their draw from September 2017.

The 28-year-old Alvarez will pursue a third crown in as many divisions on December 15 against 168-pound Rocky Fielding, but retains his middleweight championships.

The 31-year-old Jacobs (35-2, 29 KOs) has said that he wants to face Alvarez, Charlo or else have a return bout against Golovkin, having earned his third straight victory over Sergiy Derevyanchenko for the IBF’s crown, ending the loser’s stoppage run at six.

“I believe that Triple-G is going to avoid fighting Jermall, and then we’ll go straight to Canelo," said Shields. "Then I think Canelo’s going to avoid Jermall, and, according to the rules, he’ll have to give up his belt. And let’s see who Danny chooses to fight, next."

The other newly champions are 30-year-old southpaw Demetrius Andrade (26-0, 16 KOs) of the WBO and 28-year-old Rob Brant (24-1, 16 KOs), the WBA's "regular" titleholder.

“Everybody at 160 pounds, trust me, they are gonna take three-or-four looks before they sign the contract to fight Jermall," said Shields. "That’s because they see everything that I see. They see it all, and that’s why none of them wants to fight Jermall.”

In 17 fights from December 2008 until November 2015, Charlo registered 16 stoppages and a shutout unanimous decision, the latter over Michael Finney in March 2015.

Charlo’s run of five knockouts in his past six fights began with his 154-pound championship victory that dethroned Cornelius Bundrage. Charlo floored the 42-year-old Bundrage four times during a third-round stoppage in September 2015 —exactly seven years to the day he made his pro debut.

In succession, Charlo dropped Wilky Campfort three times during a fourth-round TKO victory in November 2015, earned a unanimous decision over left-handed former champion Austin Trout in May 2016, and scored three knockdowns during a fifth-round knockout of previously unbeaten Julian Williams in December 2016.

Charlo’s 160-pound debut was July’s two-knockdown, fourth-round TKO of Argentina’s Jorge Sebastian Heiland, who was stopped for the first time in his career.

During a February conference call in advance of facing Hugo Centeno Jr. in April, Charlo likened himself to Golovkin’s worst nightmare.

“When [Golovkin] goes to sleep at night, I know he goes to sleep thinking about me,” Charlo said. “He knows that there’s a young, hungry, 160-pound fierce dog out there. And that’s me. He knows the pressure is on him.”

Charlo delivered a frightening statement, flattening 6-foot-1 Centeno Jr. (26-2, 14 KOs) with a left-hook for a second-round knockout.

“Jermall has power in both hands, and has been hurting and dropping guys with his jab for his entire career. When you look back, he dropped Cornelius Bundrage, Wilky Campfort and Julian Williams once-each with jabs, and he also hurt Heiland badly with a jab. Centeno is a tall, lanky, awkward guy and a good boxer, so that absolutely added to the aura of Jermall Charlo,” said Shields.

“In the first round, I told Jermall to just box him and make him think this is the way that you’re gonna fight. In the second round, you’re gonna surprise him. As soon as Jermall sat down in the corner, I said, ‘Now go and jump on him, right now.’ That’s exactly what I did. I knew that as soon as Jermall touched him he was gonna knock him out.”

The 31-year-old Monroe has lost to Golovkin (sixth-round TKO) and then-champion Billy Joe Saunders (unanimous decision) of England in May 2015 and September, but Shields said there is no pressure on “The Hitman” to one-up one-up Golovkin and Saunders.

“Jermall is going to get in there and fight the game plan that I’ve given him, and then, we want to fight Triple-G, which is who the WBC mandated for us to fight,” said Shields.

“If he doesn’t fight us, then we’ll go straight to Canelo, and if he doesn’t want to fight, then he can give up his belt, we’ll take it and we’ll fight somebody else because it’s hard to get these so-called top fighters into the ring. They absolutely do not want to fight Jermall.”

Floyd Mayweather vs. Tenshin Nasukawa Announced For 12/31

At a press conference in Japan, it was announced that Floyd Mayweather Jr. had signed a deal with Japanese mixed martial arts promotions company RIZIN Fighting Federation to fight MMA/kickboxing superstar Tenshin Nasukawa on New Year’s Eve in Saitama.

The undefeated 41-year-old, who has won world boxing titles in five different weight categories, has never fought professionally in mixed martial arts and it had yet to be decided what format and rules the fight would follow, he said.

The bout is to be held at the RIZIN.14 event.

Mayweather’s last bout was in 2017 when he stopped UFC superstar Conor McGregor, running his boxing record to 50-0 and earning close to $300 million.

”I want to continue to build my relationship with Money Team Tokyo,” Mayweather said.

“I want to continue coming over here and bringing other fighters over here so my company can continue to grow and RIZIN can continue to grow. I would love to continue to work with RIZIN because RIZIN is an unbelievable company, and my company, we’ve been making some huge fights happen in the US, but we look forward to taking the Mayweather Promotions banner and the TMT banner worldwide. And if it takes working with a great guy like this, there’s no problem.”

That shit dumb.

I think Floyd is a master boxer, but he ain't got the grappling experience to stop one professionally take down attempt... And gonna get dragged for no reason

Money Grab.. before the pacquiao fight.. people keep saying he is broke.. i think people wish him to be broke.. i could care less what he has but i dont think he is broke he is just a paper chaser captilizing off of every ounce of name rec he can..lame as fuck but whatever.. ill watch

IMO Floyd not broke nor does he "need" the money.

I think those Japanese business people put up enough money where no matter the outcome to Floyd it is worth the money.

A loss in a form of MMA for Floyd ain't the same as a loss in boxing to Floyd no matter his age.

Floyd craves attention and this will get Floyd attention and probably more money than any fight in boxing could get him. Floyd is never going to fight a real threat in boxing again. So all the shit he does from here on out is a money grab and for attention. If Floyd takes a real fight in boxing then we all know that dude is broke or on the verge of being broke.

Not a well thought out trash talking moment. You can't flat out duck 160 Charlo then talk shit about who he fighting.

Loeffler: I Wish Charlo Well, With a Guy GGG KO'd 3 Years Ago!

During a recent interview with BoxingScene.com, Gennady Golovkin’s promoter, Tom Loeffler, said a fight with interim WBC 160-pound champion Jermall Charlo “doesn’t make sense,” adding, “that’s not going to happen.”

Charlo’s trainer, Ronnie Shields, believes Golovkin and his 160-pound counterparts fear “The Hit Man.”

The 36-year-old Golovkin (38-1-1, 34 KOs) 1-1-1 in his past three fights, having won a disputed unanimous decision over Daniel Jacobs (35-2, 29 KOs) in March 2017 that ended “GGG’s” 23-fight, nine-year stoppage streak, and lost his IBO, WBC and “super” WBA 160-pound titles by split-decision to Canelo Alvarez (50-1-1, 34 KOs) last month in a rematch of their draw from September 2017.

The switch-hitting Jacobs (35-2, 29 KOs) has won three straight comprised of unanimous decisions in November and April against previously unbeatens Luis Arias and Maciej Sulecki, and last month’s IBF title-winning split-decision over Sergiy Derevyanchenko.

Alvarez has signed a $365 million multi-fight deal with the streaming service DAZN and will pursue a third crown in as many divisions on December 15 against 168-pound Rocky Fielding, but retains his middleweight championships.

The 28-year-old Charlo (27-0, 21 KOs) is after his first defense and fourth straight stoppage victory against southpaw two-time title challenger Willie Monroe (23-3, 6 KOs) at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on December 22.

Charlo will become a mandatory for a WBC title eliminator against Golovkin should he defeat Monroe, who was floored three times during a sixth-round stoppage loss to Golovkin in May 2015.

A network free agent, Golovkin is considering his options, none of which include Charlo, according to Loeffler.

“We wish Charlo well in his fight scheduled against a tricky guy [Monroe] that GGG beat three years ago in the sixth round…We’re just working on the best deal for GGG right now,” said Loeffler in a text message to BoxingScene.com.

“He just returned from Kazakhstan where he spent time with his family. He is a national hero there and they all believe he should still be champion…His popularity is higher now than ever before and the fans are looking forward to seeing him back in the ring.”

I see what you saying but a loss is a loss. Part of the Mayweather deal is the undefeated record. Getting choked out would hurt his brand long term. I know nothing about the guy he fighting, so it might be fixed ...but on the surface, I don't like this nice even if it is a money grab.
