Men definitely has more to lose. That’s why men hesitate to get married while women want marriage because it gives them security.
Marriage is treated as a “status achievement”, especially when the wedding is made to be the most important part.
Saw an article saying married men live longer than single men but married women dont live longer than single women.
But financially men get it bad because breadwinner.

I think it goes beyond just impressing friends. There is a lot of social pressure on women, more than men, to settle down, have kids, get a man, and not end up single and alone. Women hear about the dreaded "ticking clock" of biology from everybody and everywhere. Images of old spinsters and cat ladies are echoed in the media. People are getting married for the wrong reasons, to people they maybe should not even be dating let alone marrying, and it seems to be reflected, in part, in the high divorce rates.
Visitation rights, child support, alimony, house, car, pension, lawyer fees, friends, freedom.
For someone who doesn't give a shit about marriage you sure are viewing it through rose coloured glasses
The statistics skew to favour women. They lose those things less often.
Women lose other stuff, like years off their life.
Thanks for what? We all know cases where women get taken to the cleaners, they just happen less often. For every Britney Spears, there's a couple Kobe Bryants.
