Unless Kofi & Woods wanted to continue in-ring work; I could have seen a scenario where they became backstage commentators or reuniting with Big E and doing the post PLE shows. That woulda been good and right up WWE's alley. Woulda made senses too.

Unfortunately I know they will probably run YBs vs them but I really aint trying to see all that. Call me a hater but I been waiting for the day New Day run was done.
 
It would be a real nice pick up for TNA to help grow their shit but i dont see that happening. Id be surprised

Garza basically been saying that they were leaving for the last few weeks and putting out fillers

at this point these niggas might as well close the tag div down

its only a few teams left on the main roster that are official teams

then we got the boys on NXT Swipe right but outside of them everybody else who they building up are ass

Yeah I was thinking the same the tag team division with legit teams back to being dry.

New Day are now gone from WWE.

Fightful Select and Cory Hays from BodySlam reported that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are set to leave the company after a mutually agreed upon release. Fightful Select can confirm there is a wait period on the release, expected to be the standard 90 days.

Immediately, the situation was met with shock among WWE wrestlers. Many echoing the sentiments that they believed both men were WWE lifers, especially Kofi. However, that was quickly followed up in numerous cases with the belief that nobody is a WWE lifer anymore.

Kofi Kingston will still be able to use the "Kofi" portion of his name, considering it's his birth name. He will likely not be able to use "Kingston." Xavier Woods is a name owned by WWE, but he's worked to establish the "Austin Creed" name outside of WWE programming. "New Day" is owned by WWE and can not be used outside the company.

Those we spoke to claim TKO tasked WWE with shedding millions of dollars in payroll, which led to a huge set of releases and departures over the last week. Kofi and Creed both make well into the seven figures, and are expected to get immediate interest everywhere. We're told there were already major names pushing for Kofi and Creed within AEW, which is not much of a surprise.

Kofi and Creed signed new WWE deals in 2025 that were expected to carry them well into 2030.

We're told that Kofi and Creed had pretty well decided upon their WWE departure by last Monday, and procured their release papers late in the week.

We're working to find out more on the releases of JC Mateo and Tanga Loa.
