Guns in America

@konceptjones

My joint came in today, and I found out there is a shotgun/rifle range about 30 mins away where they only charge a $20 fee and you can shoot as much as you want.

lol I don't know when I'll be going though. I'm too broke for ammo now.

You got the MP12 or the KSG?

All the indoor ranges out here demand that you use slugs. The outdoor ranges out here don't really give a fuck unless it's that Dragons Breath shit, then they might call the cops on you and give you a lifetime ban.

I'm prolly getting a shottie after I cop the Taurus TX22, so I'm looking at June. Whatever shotgun I get, it will definitely be a semi auto joint.

I'm going to get some slugs, but buckshot might be the way to go for home defense at least. I live in a townhouse. Some of those slugs will go through the intruder, drywall, and into the person on the other side of the wall. lol Good thing about this gun is you can switch between feeder tubes so I can have buckshot in one and slugs in the other and choose based on the moment.

I'm gonna get a few little boxes of different kinds of ammo and go to the range and see which one feels more comfortable to shoot. This gun will cycle those shorty shells too. I can load up with 20+1 of those, which is hilarious. Cause in MD if you have a handgun or rifle you, you're limited to a 10 round magazine, but I can roll with a shotgun with 20 shells. lol

Check ya state laws is regards to warning shots/stand your ground laws etc.

I know when I purchased a shotgun years ago (Florida) at the time it was something like the first shot maybe even the second one had to be bird shot to be consider a warning shot then normal slugs after that. Which was fine since in the situations thats what I would want. My memory might be off on the details though so don’t quote it as a fact.

Warning shots of any type can land you on papers or in prison out here in Michigan. It's considered reckless discharge of a firearm and can also be classified as felonious assault.

Got the M&P12. Researched quite a bit and it seems that was the more reliable option. It cost more, but apparently Keltec is hit or miss when it comes to quality control. If I was more of a collector that might not matter as much, but I really just one or two joints for the home and range that I keep for a long time. I thought about getting a semi auto. I think I'd be better off with the pump and training with it. It kinda forces you to be more measured in your response.

Really? That's weird. MD actually has a Castle Doctrine law. There is no rule about warning shots. What matters as that you're responding to a threat with comparable force meaning I can't blow an unarmed dude's head off just because he's in my house. If I feel like he's a threat to my life, I'm good to respond in kind though. That's all that matters for me. I ain't trying to be John Rambo. If hearing that shotgun click is enough to send them packing, all the better.

look at specialty slugs if u a dead set on ur shotgun being ur primary defense weapon

even birdshot can over-penetrate drywall and severely damage framing studs in a home

birdshot is typically not enough to stop a grown man wearing close unless can get good shot placement at an optimal distance before the shot starts to spread

buckshot will stop a dude but the over-penetration is even worse....imagine having to clean up after shooting a guy and the ammo goes thru/all over a wall

slugs force u to train to aim better, and specialty slugs can address those problems u come across with bird/buck shot

u can look and see if there is breaching/fragmentation ammo the military uses.

I used to see sabot slugs/split hollow points slugs available out there........ur main challenge will be accessibility due to state laws tho

that's why I don't recommend shotguns for home defense personally

I got some sabot slugs and #4 buck shot. I took them to the range today. The #4 had a pretty tight spread at 10 yards and was still good at 20. I'm really not that worried about errant pellets. I live in a townhouse. My engagement range will mostly likely be 5 - 12 yards. The # 4 should give good stopping power without too much overpenetration. I seen some of the shotgun enthusiasts scoff at it in favor of the 00 shot, but they be out there training for 25 yard engagements. That's not even possible in my home.

I think I'm good with the ammo. At the end of the day, it will all depend on my shooting. Since I found that free range, I'll probably be there twice a month from now on.

I've posted these in the other thread, but it's appropriate considering the convo:

^^^ Right around halfway through this one he shoots bird shot at his meat target through a wall, shit really ain't looking good for survivability.

^^^ This one is just shotties.

it's funny what this thread turned into. LMAO.

This is you guys? LMAO!

@Mr BFK it's real in the battlefield with these guys out here? This is how you spend your weekends prepping for the end of days?

niggas look like full on juggalos. I'm still not scared.

The fucking jherri curls. I can't! Try to break into my house and get a pickaxe stuck in your head.

I ain't gonna lie. A lot of those gun dudes on YT be preparing like they are Osama and Seal Team 6 is coming to get them. They be having $2000 ARs with with $2000 worth of attachments with 30 round mags that they can swap out in half a second. It's like, bruh, that's impressive and all, but if you do get robbed, it will probably be by a couple dudes with pistols that they can't shoot right. lol

Bruh, one of my boys has a GRIP of AR's that he built. The first two he bought, the rest of them he built, including two chambered in .350 Legend (one 10" pistol, the other a 16" rifle). He's always saying that those high dollar AR's are nice and all, but his joints that he built for cheap still go "bang" when you pull the trigger just like the expensive joints, so it really makes no sense to spend that kind of money.

We're both in a FB gun group and both of us got clowned 'cause we both own Radical Firearms AR's; his is a 16" joint with the 12" rail and simple furniture, I have the SOCOM16 with the 15" rail/hand guard and upgraded furniture. I got about 2000 rounds through mine and he's got a bunch through his and neither of us has has a single malfunction. I paid $600 and change for mine at the tail end of the pandemic, he copped for the low at under $500 for his.

The funny thing is that if someone decided to, foolishly, break in while I'm at the crib, my AR isn't what I'm reaching for, it's my Sub2000 or CMR30 or whatever pistol I left out for that reason.

West side of Detroit.

Goofy niggas like this make it hard on legit gun owners, 'cause ain't no way in hell any of this shit had to happen over a goddamned quarter. This nigga needs to go to prison for a good stretch, but it's in Detroit so Kim Worthy's prolly gonna stack the charges as high as she can to make sure he doesn't come home until he's got gray hair; assault and battery, felonious assault, felony firearm, and maybe a few more charges.
