Backing away from rap music topic, I do this often. Depending on the rapper and vibe/ sometimes I do the get away from that sound for months. Only R&B, deeper into Jazz, club music (Kaytranada), and NEO SOUL. Then I may go back into rap music some months later. Truthfully, almost every winter I don’t listen to much rap music, but I do towards the end of Summer into the fall.
Also it depends on the rapper. These new lil rappers, I don’t listen to at all. All those female rappers, nope, but I watch their FREAKY ASS HALF NUDE MUSIC VIDEOS, lmfao. I’ll check it out once and never again.
Griselda, I like them but their music makes me feel like I have not washed and everything smells like liquor and weed. No matter how hard I wash, that dirty feeling is just in the air from their music. I have not listened to their in about 2 years. Freddie Gibbs I fuck with, but his real life kind of made me not like him as much. Him dating a pornstar, WTF. Fun for a couple of nights but not dating and getting her pregnant, but that’s his life. Final dude is DAVE EAST, I ain’t listen to him in a long time. I like his music even though it always sound like he is free-styling and he is not talking about anything.
People I always check for is J Cole, hit me with the jokes. Yes I listen to both Kendrick and Drake, yeah I was rooting for Kenndrick. Whenever Iceman drops, I’m still going to check it out.
Lupe Fiasco, I’m always a big big fan, from the albums to his he mixtapes. He is one of my favorite rappers. I love listening to him and then having to decipher the lyrics. His music isn’t meant for mainstream, and I love it.
Jayz , Nas, Jadakiss a bunch of east coast rappers (that’s where I’m from) I will always love and respect. Fabolous I still check out his new music, like all those freestyles from last year.
But the only rapper I hate and don’t check out for any more is…….KANYE WEST! I was a big Kanye Fan up until Beautiful Dark Twisted Fanatsy. not the music but his personality, I saw the bullshit since then. I checked out his music until KIDS SEE GHOST WITH KID CUDI. The hitler shit I don’t even touch. Just like Griselda with Hitler wears Hermes series, not going to listen. I did see the Kanye documentary on Netflix, it was good but I can’t listen to him, it pisses me off. Kanye is the real true FALL OFF to me
