If The Writers & Directors Are White, Is It A Black Show/Movie?

Season 4:
McNulty says fuck it. I'm done with trying to help. Ends up running into Body, and can see he's long for an out. And gets Bodie killed as an Result. 🤕

Season 5

McNulty.... disgusted with the system...imagines a serial killer in an attempt to get the media to look into real crimes going on in the city....at first they do. But then they give up. It becomes irrelevant.

End of season for MCNULTY

My entire point is while he was a major character in the series ..... The focus was never on him. He was a plot device. The entire point of the show was the different angles of corruption in the city, and McNulty was only used as a tool to tell that story.

The belief that Baltimore was the main character will forever be more accurate because the city was shown from different angles.. and different perspectives, different eyes... It wasn't just what McNulty saw.. Cuz he was never the focus
It's what the viewers saw from how it was all connected through different parts of the city.

Like I get how y'all stupid ass niggas think it was a show about a cop.

But anyone who's not a fucking idiot, can see it was a show about a city.

Fucking dumb asses

So what do you make of Season 4 which sidelines him for the whole season? How can a show sideline the main character for 20% of the shows existence?
4 out of 5 seasons he's the guy in front still makes him the main character. His involvement moves the show in 4 out of 5 seasons. The only other person with a claim is Omar but Omar wasn't at the center of the show.

The top cop went at both drug organizations, had a impact on the docks investigation and had impact on the newspaper storyline. That's a main character.

I'm not surprised a Baltimore resident fighting so hard to make Baltimore a character when he knows thats just plain stupid

Naw my nigga, facts...

I ain't ever heard truer shit spat. You win. Celebrate.

I think what we shouldn't also lose sight of is that white people inherently trust other white people so they'll pass on a show called living single and then make Friends.

I think it was Freeman who said it on the first page, if a white writer/director is trying to play into black stereotypes, that's a major issue but I do think there's a small percent that actually care about the content and want to try to keep it as authentic as possible
