If The Writers & Directors Are White, Is It A Black Show/Movie?

Naw McNulty gotta legit claim. Much more than Stringer or Omar

But I prefer the Baltimore argument. The entire premise was how it was all connected. It was a show mainly about corruption and how deep it goes into the system, and how it's allowed to operate.

The wire was a break down of how each aspect affected the whole

Season 1 the Streets
Season 2 the docs
Season 3 city hall
Season 4 the schools
Season 5 the media

5 different contributing factors and how each one feeds the next.

So you telling me Biggie Shorty was not one of the greatest side characters of all time who fought multiple systematic oppressions with her purse?

It's like you dudes never watched the show.

McNulty was the sole reason Daniels even had the unit to go after Avon. It was McNulty being the main cop guy in season 1.

Season 2 it was McNulty who put the dead whores on the Baltimore homicide unit.

Season 3 he was back on Barksdsle and investigating D'Angelo death.

Season 4 the only Season you can say he wasn't the main character.

Season 5 he was doing the ribbon murders.

From the police to the streets McNulty was involved.

Yall just be saying shit lol I could see somebody saying Barksdale or Stringer shit even Omar.

How would Stringer be the main character over McNulty when McNulty is still there after Stringer is dead?

I don't think there is a clear cut main character. The show is more concept driven than character driven. From one season to another, the most important characters changed based on what story was being told.

He was a plot device. He got the ball rolling, but it did not centralize around him. He was there, but he was not the focus of each season.

He essentially has an issue at the beginning of the season, and then the show would dive into that problem offering and exposing a deeper understanding of what it was he was bothered by.
