They omitted and changed a few things

Maekar agreed with Duncan to let Aegon travel and squire for him. He told Egg to keep his head shaved or dye it to stay hidden and gave his signet ring for emergencies

Guess the showrunner thought this ended was funnier with Egg sneaking off
