Spinning disk or SATA SSD are your choices. Spinning disk will net you a larger drive for cheap. SSD will be a smaller drive, but faster.

Man I think I let Norton anti virus mess with my shit. When I log in it will see need a driver update and I just let it run.

But then my screen blacked out saying it’s a problem that can’t be repaired. So I google it and troubleshoot. Go to command prompt to chkdsk and it’s says can’t be checked because it’s wrote protected.

So I’m looking up more stuff and was told I need to switch something to readonly. I didn’t take full time last night but will try to figure it out today. Trying to use Best Buy as a last resort

It probably quarantined something. You can just look in the list if you can get the computer to turn on. You paying for Norton?

The default windows security is enough though. You can download free Malwarebytes to do a scan every now and then though but having more than 1 isn't usually good

Sounds like your hard drive died though
