A church at it's highest function is to serve the people and the community.

Help them nurture and develope a personal relationship while reenforcing the ideals and values of a virtuous person through parables and stories.

If any member of a church refused to pay one dime and boldly declared that was between them and God, not one fuck would be given.

There's no real demand to give a church money.

It basically comes down to you agreeing with the way this particular ministry is running and you want it to continue.

If you don't wanna pay, don't pay.

As far as the people in the op, they obviously agree with the way things going there if they continue to support it....
