Tipping At A Restaurant

After every time you sat down at a table at a casino, would you tip the dealer after every hand you've played?
i tip with my winnings....i tip if i ask for change and they give it to me

so we went from restaurants to card table etiquette like it's the exact same thing?

I feel where she’s coming from

i know we thrive to be humane but diners should not be pressed to subsidize restaurant establishments that underpay their staff.
nowhere is tipping mandatory. the history of tipping began with a waiter/waitress giving special care to a patron, so much so that said patron recognized the thoughtfulness and care in providing welcoming atmosphere. this mandatory thing is participation trophy shit. "everybody gets a trophy". don't have to have the skill just ride the bench and get a tip.

Tipping is and should be based on quality of service. But I never understood "I'm not tipping because the owner should pay his staff more" or other shit like that. Because you paying for the food which already puts money in the owner's pocket. Not tipping just stiffs the server and doesn't affect the owner at all. So the get back is hurting the person who is already at the bottom of the totem pole not the person sitting on top. It helps nobody and only hurts

Just want consistency across the board with your stance.

Should everybody tip the dealers when they win at the casino?? Why is that not frown on as much as restaurants tipping

Just want consistency

i do believe shitty service can prevent me from tipping... but when i'm out i'm not looking for a reason to not tip, i go out in a giving mood...you have to actively do something that makes me feel like "fuck that i'm not tipping"

Would you wake up and volunteer yourself to be at the bottom of the totem pole in life? Nobody told a person to sign up for a job, I nor anybody on this board told you to apply for your job where you're at currently.

You choose to work where you work. It's a choice

the problem is you want consistency in two different applications....

Nah,

Are casino workers dealers not in the service business/industry?

When folks sucking down free drinks at the casino, most are not tipping them waitress, but they drink for free while they play, some do but nobody gets upset when the tipping is not done

they might not get upset, cuz most people are tipping..... but they remember who tipped and will go to them before the guy who didn't

No I wouldn't. That has nothing to do with my point that not tipping under the guise or trying to "protest" restaurant owners doesn't hurt them it hurts the servers.

everybody not a boss bruh

Never said that were, but the fact that buddy wanna make this seem like a make a wish foundation situation is where I draw the line.

You work for someone, that someone should pay you a livable wage is where I stand.

and if a dealer or bartender routinely doesn't get tips, they not doing that shit too long.

and if they recognize that certain areas tip better than others...they'll gravitate towards those areas

It has everything to do with it. It's no "protest" just like I stated, most folks only frown down on folks who don't tip waiters at bars/resturants

Noone bats an eye when the tipping isn't done in other sectors, such as in a casino and other avenues of life.

As an adult, you should sign yourself up to work for someone who is paying you a livable wage.

yeah, but the upside of tipping surpasses a regular wage for that position.

mcdonalds workers make a "livable wage"
a restaurant server might make much less than them hourly.... but 3 or 4 times more when you factor in their tips...

so should the restaurant worker make what the mcdonalds worker makes just so we can eliminate the tipping system and you don't feel guilty about having to support the workers??

cuz the if restaurant cant afford to pay them what they make it tips...they can cap their pay and eliminate tips....i mean that would make you feel better right? if these people who making a couple hundred a night only were allowed to make 15 bucks an hour every 2 weeks??

Doesn't matter if they are doing it for 11 days or 11 hours, noone (the public) does not bat an eye if tipping isn't being done in casinos is my point.

If a person wins, they can get they ass up from the table and run off with the winnings and not leave nothing and nobody says nothing, but if that same person eats at a restaurant, and he gets up and leaves after paying the bill, he's cheap and broke

Be consistent is all I ask or don't judge at all

So when you remove tipping from the equation by paying them a fair wage, suddenly the waitstaff don't want to see you anymore???

Anyone else other than me see how ridiculously stupid this is???
how is it stupid? who doesn't want incentives? the fair wage is less than they make from tips??

who wants less money??
