I said music can invoke different feelings and i agree it can affect your feelings, which is what you're saying they said, but I dont think music and actions are directly correlated. As in you listen to a song then go out and do something becauase you heard it in a song.

They banned certain songs to be played at clubs because of the fights it would cause.

H-Town - Knocking Boots not causing fights in the club

3-6 Mafia- Tear the Club Up was banned, not because it made folks feel happy, it was banned because of what folks did in the club when hearing the song

Yea, that's not making sense cap

Music has never affected you before? A song has never amped you up? You've never related to a song or artist and felt a way? There's never been a song that you played back over and over cause you felt that shit in your core?

Lie to me.
i have to be susceptible to that feeling before i listen to it....

if i'm not in the mood to be amped up, lively music just sounds like noise to me.

Yea.

I guess him saying most black men are violet against women is not a dealbreaker for y’all.
Like I said before if you just looking at provocative clips meant to go viral you might absorb it a different way.

Dude is definitely for the betterment of black men and the black community. I recommend you listen to a few of his podcast episodes for clarity cause you definitely got him fucked up.

What would you say about gospel songs that make folks catch the holy ghost or cry, those people are weak?

I've seen many folks cry to "Melodies From Heaven"

Hell, Soulja Boy was crying at the BET Awards when he heard that gospel song and he is a whole killa allegedly

The song made people feel aggressive. They chose to act out in that way. Same way music can make people feel aggressive but instead of knocking somebody out they go to the gym and work out. The feeling is involuntary. the action is a conscious choice. Actions vs feelings. Two different things.

Interesting twist. There's definitely certain songs I won't listen to if im already in a certain mental space.

again, some people are just more susceptible to shit than i am..

i guess weak is a bad word, but ive never heard a gospel song that made me wanna cry. and i'll get i a mood to listen to gospel from time to time

They go hand and hand, if one hears a love song by Marvin Gaye, a man might wanna do something for his lady, that song/lyrics motivated him to make that move.

Things work hand and hand.

A song may put you in the move to hop in your car and just ride out....the feeling sparks the action of a person in some cases

Ok now think outside of your bubble and acknowledge that there's plenty of people that aren't super nigga like yourself and are susceptible to feelings that music might evoke.

i'll skip right past songs that are my favorite songs if im not in the mood to hear them. i'll often drive in silence if i dont wana hear nuffin..or if i'm just in my thoughts

That's fair. Some folks can sit up and church and never cry, I'm the same way, but I've seen how a songstress singing a song on 1st Sunday and tear the whole church up.

Gangsta Lean was in 95, and it was played at a lot of folks funeral and niggas dropped a few tears from that song and vowed to put down the guns for a second, only to fail at that

yea that's OD

In a world where gender wars between black men and women is profitable, it's refreshing to hear Deante hold both black men and women accountable for their actions.

There are a lot of niggas saying he's pandering because he wants black men to raise their standards

That's wild af to me

Nah man, back in the 80s, 90s, hell 70s, niggas used to put on music to so call 'set the mood' for what? To fight? no, to knock down the women

It's a reason niggas put on Luther or a Marvin instead of an Ice Cube when trying to smash a chick. Got to get her in the mood, "To do what" smash

Feelings = Action
