Niggaz gotta be stronger than their excuses.

Y'all posture as weak way too often.

If music you actually like is "making" you feel a certain way... How much control to your really have over your own life?

Yes.

I have said this something a long ass time ago

I curved the amount of certain type of rap and I seen/feel the difference

Yeah, I gotta change my perspective. Music doesn't affect me like that at all, so I've always thought it was silly when people suggested music was to blame for certain things. I guess that idea isn't complete BS.

Did they specify what artist they were listening to? It's not a shock music can affect people's moods. Its why we all typically have songs we listen to when you're happy, sad, etc. But if all you're taking in is 1 specific type of music, as in if all they listened to was more aggressive stuff, then that would make sense. But they'd have that same feeling if all they listened to was aggressive music from any genre

The vid is mostly about modern artists. They were talking about hearing dudes constantly rapping about how much money they got and how many people they kill and females rapping about how good they look and how good their pussy is.

I don't think music can be blamed for things. But the words and literal music can invoke different feelings and emotions. If a song has ever made you happy or think about a certain person then it's affected you. Now when folks start blaming music for their actual actions is where I draw the line. That shit i don't believe at all.

Words affect people. Like im sure there's certain songs that make you think about your wife. It's not always a bad or negative thing. Now making people committ certain actions...nah. I dont rock with that at all. But feelings...yeah music can definitely make you feel certain things

What you're saying makes no sense.

These people are saying the one and only change they made in their lives was giving up listening to rap and after making that change, they started to feel better. Whether you want to believe it or not, the music was impacting them in some way. lol You're randomly trying to attach the music to some other aspect of their lives, and that's not what they are saying. They are specifically talking about the music.

I too would like to know this

shits crazy

I'm not sayin you gotta be in 100% agreement w/ bruh

but if him talkin bout uplifting the black community by telling young brothers to go to school to learn a trade/skill, get your CDL, pooling our resources together to build, etc.

if you hear that & want to punch him, you jus might got a lil coon in you

Music has never affected you before? A song has never amped you up? You've never related to a song or artist and felt a way? There's never been a song that you played back over and over cause you felt that shit in your core?

Lie to me.

I said music can invoke different feelings and i agree it can affect your feelings, which is what you're saying they said, but I dont think music and actions are directly correlated. As in you listen to a song then go out and do something becauase you heard it in a song.

C'mon Dwayne b lol

This is an area where you need to exercise nuance. I've been listening to dude for a min and can't recall him saying, consistently that most black men are violent against black women

He's touched on that subject a few times and his point continues to be that as a black man, if you get so upset to the point where you feel you have to hit your woman, then you need help
