Official Wrestling News Thread

We have some updates and a correction on Masha Slamovich.

The TNA Knockouts champion was accused of domestic abuse against her former partner, Akira. TNA told Sports Illustrated's Jon Alba that they were launching an internal investigation on the situation. WWE sources told Fightful Select that any plans of using her for the invasion angle would be paused if there were any.

There were some subsequent aggregations that said that we reported that Masha was "nixed" from the invasion angle, which is not the case. In fact, we're told that Masha was never planned for the September 23 angle, and isn't even in the country, as she's in Spain at the moment. We've not heard of upcoming plans for her in the invasion angle, and for good reason -- her contract.

Fightful Select has also learned that Masha's contract with TNA is up relatively soon, and it was still up in the air whether or not she'd even remain with the company. She was scheduled to lose her TNA Knockouts Title match against Ash by Elegance, which is now in question.

There has been an assumption that WWE yanked Masha Slamovich from this past Tuesday's TNA angle on NXT TV due to the allegations against her. PWInsiderElite.com has learned that Slamovich has been in Europe this week (and as of this morning, was there still but we are told would be heading back to the States shortly), so she was never scheduled to be in Orlando. It's entirely understandable to think WWE would have wanted her off the angle, but she was never physically scheduled to be in The United States.

TNA has reshuffled their TV episode for tonight to pull the Knockouts six woman tag team bout as that is no longer advertised, and that would have featured Slamovich. She is no longer expected to be at this week's PPV and TV taping.

There is no word whether Ash by Elegance will be working the PPV against another opponent. One source stated she would not be wrestling, but others would not confirm that to be the case. So, stay tuned on that.

For some reason, our email and social media were inundated with a rumor that AEW's Adam Copeland was written off TV last night in order for Copeland to go wrestle John Cena on one of Cena's final retirement matches in WWE. The rumor also claims that Copeland was doing this with AEW's blessing.

None of that is even remotely true, PWInsiderElite.com can confirm.

We are told that Copeland's exit from storylines is in part due to his acting career. The latest season of Disney+'s Percy Jackson series will be ramping up production next month and Copeland portrays Ares, The God of War, and has appeared in the last two seasons. That is likely Copeland's reason for taking time off from AEW TV.

For those who have asked, we are told Britt Baker was not at last night's AEW Dynamite taping in Pittsburgh.

Orange Cassidy returned from his pec tear last night. He had been regularly backstage while injured.

Who even believed that rumor lol

Jazmyn Nyx just posted on IG why she quit WWE.

Ole girl pretty much said the money they offered wasn't right, and all three injuries she's sustained. So she left.

Maybe that's right they wrote her off the way they did, and Kacy making that statement about how she couldn't cut it.

Those within were openly wondering why ESPN would want that kind of “online stigma” after what many considered a fairly standard event from WWE.

lol that’s the problem. the event wasn’t anything special. everyone not in the wwe bubble can see that

i hope espn continues calling wwe out for putting on mid shows
