WWE Wrestlepalooza (9/20/25)

Added to Calendar: 09-20-25

Tuned in to make sure I saw Cena vs Lesnar. Was disappointed in how the match actually played out. I understand it starting, you are going to have a lot of new eyes on the product. A lot of ESPN regulars who tune in to see something they are not accustomed to. And you showcase your most loyal soldier getting destroyed by someone in, what, 10 minutes? not even? I don't know about that one chief.

Tuned out, jumped back in to the final 45 seconds of Cody vs Drew, seeing Cody give him the disaster kick or whatever he calls it, and crossrhodes.
Based off what i saw from the highlights...

Alright, but forgettable event

They didn't need to rush this shit. NFL is king, and it's not like WWE was gonna come in during NFL and CFB season and steal the show. They got greedy, and they're paying the price.

Little to zero builds
No Roman
No Jacob
No Bianca
No Rhea
A typical Lesnar match that
A Cena match that was wasted on a Lesnar match

and promises of “surprises” that never happened

ESPN got what they paid for with 2025 WWE

if this is what the relationship looks like fuck it keep them on ESPN atleast they call out their bullshit. Peacock would have praised it up and down.
Idk bout that cause I read somewhere peacock was tight cause SNMEs are basically glorified house shows and that’s not what they signed up for lol

It wasn't even a PPV originally scheduled in September u know why they did this shit
yup and im glad most fans who watxh both said AEW ppv blew them out the water as far as putting on a show. WWE keeps going for the attack and folks end up praising the other show. 0-2.

Having Cody headline with boring ass Drew was another fail. Steph and Iyo should of got the main event spot atleast the show would of ended on a high note.

This is what they get for basically rushing the build for this PLE

And the site I get most of my wrestling news from said something similar:

WWE made their debut on ESPN last night with WrestePalooza, a show that was thrown together pretty much at the last minute to make their ESPN debut early (and some would say cock block AEW's All Out Toronto PPV). It was a solid show to me but no more than that. I don’t blame the talent. They all worked their asses off, as they always do. No in this case, I blame the booker. Most of the build wasn’t interesting or was rushed. I think I just said what I used to say when Vince was booking.

The only match that had the excitement factor that HHH used to give me on most of the matches that he booked was the mixed tag, and a big reason for that was the return of AJ Lee. That can only happen once. Where HHH and his team take the story from here, I can't say. I just hope it goes to a better place than most of his other recent booking.
