It had a better Superman. Superman is not supposed to be silent, emo and brooding like Bat-Man. I enjoyed MOS for what it was and own it on Blu-Ray, but that was the wrong tone and personality.
It was a different take.
It more showed the trials and his journey to him being this overly optimistic beacon of good whereas this movie they skipped ahead and he's just that already.

Again, this dude was cool but he was too much of a pussy.

Reeves’ first outing as the iconic superhero, Superman: The Movie, saw the biggest spike in viewership, up 332% week-over-week. But, Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel was actually the top performing Superman film on the streamer last week, up 218% versus the week prior.

The renewed interest in Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story was also quite impressive with a 1,206% lift week-over-week.

The DC series are also benefitting from the renewed buzz around Superman. Peacemaker saw a 91% increase in viewership last week for the first season — just in time for Season 2’s August debut.

I liked man of steel, but this movie was better as a Superman movie.

this movie hit the boy scout nature of Superman outta the park. one of the reasons I hate the Superman character is because of this shit. lol. man of steel was a totally different take on how Superman is most of the time written.

Man of Steel displayed his powers more but also crossed a line he usually doesn't cross when he killed Zod. It also mentioned how he was pondering on if humanity is worth saving

This one he had a 'Fuck it' moment which was kind of funny. The scene with him and Lois with the creature in the background. Also felt they had Superman interact better with his allies in this one than in Snyder

Can't wait to see him interact with Supergirl more

Like someone mentioned in here Snyder's take on Superman was a nigga who was dark and indifferent lmaoooo really mans could careless bout humans to some extent. Like he did care but he was taught by Jonathan Kent to be selfish and make his own choices for his own safety. He spent alot of the film waffling on if he should help humanity or not. Plus Snyder's take on Superman was more like a Jesus figure. Take all that and mix in the fact it also had that Nolan Dark Knight tone. And I love MOS

But Gunn's Superman felt more like Superman

BINGO!!

in most (not all, I'm sure there are a few similar) comics Superman was never written like how he was in Man of Steel.

In this one dude was his usual optimistic believe in the good of everyone, persona. Even Lois pointed out that he was too optimistic to a fault. His caring about everyone and everything is also one of his biggest weaknesses, which assisted in him struggling while fighting in the crowded city. I can understand why some people didn't like that he was getting his ass kicked, but he was still fairly new at being a superhero in this film, which is something I believe a lot of viewers forgot.

another thing I really liked about this film is how formidable they made Lex Luthor as a villian. I hated that he was exposed and arrested at the end of the film, but I like that his social media accounts are going with the framing route. LOL.

after seeing how our president was able to still be elected with all the bullshit around him, its sadly realistic to have Lex to just keep denying he did anything wrong or saying he was set up........ We will see how they bring Lex back into the fold.. I don't like the idea of him and Amanda Waller working (I know its one comic run where they did) together in the future
